Its not verizon and broadcom, its broamcom and qualcomm

ANYONE is banned from importing handsets made after june 6th with qualcomm chipsets that include the disputed patents from broadcom.

Qualcomm lost, and now they are scrambling to find a way round. This effects ALL 3G handsets using qualcomm....verizon, sprint, LG, Samsung, etc etc are all petitioning..

Shame on big bad qualcomm....lets hope this is the beginning of the end of their old fashioned pricing structures.

Any update on corp email support?

I'm a devout Blackberry user, but I went to the Apple store this morning to check one out now that some of the hype has slowed down. It worked so much better than I thought it would - I walked out with an 8gig (they had a hundred or so in stock).

I'm really impressed with the interface - this is something I could give my technology inept parents that they would be actually be able to use.

I have been an iPod user for years - the iPod interface alone is excellent. The phone and other features work nice as well. I'm not happy about the fact that it's locked to AT&T, even though I'm an AT&T subscriber with a very nice healthy corporate discount on my BB. Those discounts don't currently apply to iPhones... If Apple wants this to proliferate into the corporate environment, they are going to need to license ActiveSync (rumored) or Blackberry Connect. Then AT&T is going to have to start honoring FAN discounts...

The only other issue for me is lack of 3G - hopefully this will be cured in the next release.

Oh yeah, I won't be giving up my BB for a while - But this device is going to replace my iPod for most scenarios - the iPod will remain in the car mostly.

I don't think they're going after corp really at all. Thus the camera, entertainment features and the whole connection to the iLife applications (iPhoto iTunes).

My iPhone is coming tomorrow (ordered it on launch day from the ATT store, which was OOS). I may just take it back to the store and get the 'berry 8800 or Curve.

iPhone and I have spent most of the day together yesterday. We're in love.

Issues: typing a SMS is a bit of a challenge. I started with mistyping 90%of my words, I am at 50% now. I must have big fingers, but obviously I am getting better at it.

Spent some time trying to figure out why I could not send email. There were smtp issues with one of my isps, and I ended up having to use ATT's smtp.

Love how the music you are listening to fades in and out around a call.

The choice of ring tones is dismal, and the ring volume is too low.

Registering the phone couldn't be easier, it's all integrated with iTunes. I jut had to put in my current ATT number and voila. Interestingly enough, I didn't have to transfer the SIM card from my Treo.

The interface isn't as "OS X"-like as I thought it was going to be. Beautiful though.

The loss of the wheel in the iPod is not a problem at all- I got used to it in 10 minutes.

The Mail interface needs to be improved a bit; I ned it to be more Eudora-like.

This is a stunning gadget.

Oh, and where is the reset button, in case something goes awfully wrong?

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
