what a silly statement.

Since when is income related to how one values $60?

I'm sure that those of us that are in the position to be able to miss $60 the easiest, are the ones that will refuse to do so just to play with a phone, especially since there are other options of using it without the restocking fee.

I for one can miss $60 just fine, but there is no way in hell I'll fork it over to Apple just to take their newest toy for a spin.

Well to me, $60 is like a nice steak dinner. Yum. You'll just poop it out within 24 hours anyways.

That's pretty much it. That's not EXACTLY what happened with me, but pretty close. I got mine on Friday and on Saturday we processed our move from AR to TX, requiring a new SIM. I couldn't use it until I got home and re-activated it.

Got mine yesterday. Activation was easy except that I'm still waiting for Verizon to port my phone number over to AT&T which means I can do everything with my Iphone but receive calls. Which means I now carry two cell phones until the full transfer occurs. A nuisance but I don't regret leaving Verizon (and ditching my Treo).

Just forward your VZ calls to your iPhone.

And now it's the hackers turn...

This old Safari bug is still there in the Iphone.

What's more, it was found that the iPhone is just as vulnerable to caller ID spoofing--which can allow others to access your voicemail--as any other AT&T/Cingular handset.

the article seems to talk about version 3 of Safari, which both OS X and Windows version 3 are both Public Beta, which pretty much means there gonna be some bugs in it. I'm sure the fully operational Safari 3 is just around the corner.

However, I did find one issue with Safari on iPhone and that is when you try to open a really complex page and before it fully loads, u start touching random links, it'll freeze up for like 1 to 3 seconds than kicks you out and take you to the "home screen"

Is that possible? My Iphone has the same phone number as my Treo. I can make outgoing calls from the Iphone, just not receive incoming calls. When someone gets a call from me the caller ID shows the same number as if I was calling from my Treo through Verizon. Apple's website says that completion of the number transfer which would allow the Iphone to receive calls might take several days.

Wait, never mind. The complete number transfer just went through. I'm good to go. Woo hoo!

Took about 20 hours to complete the number transfer. Not too bad I suppose.^

Activation has been cracked - you can now use it straight out of the box (no calling, obviously) without paying AT&T a cent. It only took five days. Not bad.

Now, let's see how long it takes to get the SIMlock undone.

Yeah, I'm real curious about this. I bought the iphone but live in Manila. I have AT&T but only use it when I come back which isn't as often.

So, I want to use my Philippine SIM card but have to get it unlocked. I leave tomorrow morning so I have to decide tonight as to whether or not I think the hackers will be able to unlock the phones soon...

What I heard is that someone managed to unlock the iPod and Internet surfing features on Wifi without activating the phone part.
