How do you remember passwords?

Reading up on masterpassword now. But it seems I would still always need to use my own devices as all sites must be entered via the app.
And for pins, I meant all those places you physically go where you have to enter a pin. ATM, credit card terminal (for chip and pin cards), voicemail retrieval, keypad lock on a door. Typically a 4 digit pin. How does one remember all those different pins? I have a million credit cards, 4 bank cards, 3 voicemails, 2 keypad door locks etc.

In some cases, the info I keep in there doesn't need to be secure (for instance my membership number for Hertz's Gold club), but it's easy to have it in one place and so I don't need to carry all those cards.

Yeah but how does that help me remember them if I am standing in front of a bank machine in China? Or in a store using my credit card in Moscow? I guess that's what I'm asking. Right now, mine are all the same which terrifies me!

Well since you are already on LastPass, there is an easy answer. You will see there is something called "Secure Notes" In there you create a list of the relevant PINs, when you need to remember it just open LP and check the list. Like everything else it is encrypted and securely synced across all your devices, eg:
3542 Bank ATM 1
8854 Bank card 2
4697 Office door
4386 Car park barrier
5548 Office safe
9870 Cold beer safe in fridge ... etc

When you open LastPass on your phone you can tap the switch for it to log in offline. Or if it's already offline (because you're in airplane mode, say) then it will just use its cached copy of your data.

Excellent! Then problem solved. I spent a big part of my day yesterday migrating all my stuff in and generating/changing passwords. Seriously, it was shocking how many things I have passwords for. And I'm still not done. And I'm sure I have forgotten some as well.

This is a great thread and I have learned a lot. I have been convinced it is time to move to a program like LastPass. Now a quick question. I am using Windows 10 and it automatically saves my passwords how do I turn that feature off now I will using a program like LastPass?

As I recall, LAstpass offers to import all the passwords saved in your browser and turn off your browser's password saving feature when you install Lastpass.
