Quote: I use LastPass.

I recently switched from iPhone to Android and a pleasant surprise I discovered is that the Android version of LastPass automatically detects and fills password prompts. Huge timesaver compared to having copy/paste passwords from LastPass in the iOS version.

As someone else mentioned earlier, after using LastPass for a couple years I can't possibly imagine going back.
iOS will auto fill them, but you need to access the LastPass vault first. In Safari or Chrome, just tap the icon of a box with an arrow pointing out of it and tap the LastPass icon on the bottom toolbar. If it doesn't show, scroll all the way to the right and choose MOre, then turn on LastPass.

Quote: I think it's truly becoming a password crisis that will only be resolved with fingerprint and voiceprint scans in the future.

IT has gotten so paranoid about password rules and restrictions that millions of people around the world have reverted right back to writing their passwords on a Post-It and putting it in the top right-hand drawer for easy reference.

Nice going on the security "enhancements," IT.
So true though.

Thanks FT for pointing me to LastPass. Paid for it after a day. My security score was atrocious and I have some updating work to do. The only 2 issues I have so far are getting it to fill the Delta.com site in firefox and for the bubble to pull up in some instances on the phone.

To clarify, they've always had 2 factor authentication but it required using a 3rd party app such as Google Authenticator.

What they announced yesterday was that they launched their own 2 factor authentication app. Personally, I don't see this as a big deal, I'll continue using Google Authenticator because I use it for other sites as well.

Yeah, I still don't quite understand why LastPass made this authenticator app.

keepassx. It is super secure, I believe, and I store the database on Dropbox. I like how it's open source and has been around awhile and supports iPhone, Android, OSX and Win. I'm not beholden to anyone else, like Lastpass.

+1 for lastpass. It's by far the best password manager I've used. And it's free (unless you want it for mobile devices).

But you are beholden to keepassx...

I love open source too, but there are cases where commercial products are just better (more usable) than the available open source options. Lastpass is one of those examples, and for the most part it's free too.

I use Codebook by Zetetic on my iPhone.....https://www.zetetic.net/codebook/. It's got a long history of excellent security. It used to be called STRIP - secure tool for recalling important passwords, but they finally realized that name was hindering their use because of scary Google searches.

I only use it to store passwords and other log in information (PINs, usernames, etc).....I don't want it to auto-enter anything, so I have no idea if it does that or not.

I'm a pretty big fan of 1Password. It's a bit more pricey than the others, but it works flawlessly between my Mac and iPhone.

Prompted by this thread I finally made the switch to Lastpass, after years of leaving Chrome to remember my passwords and having different passwords for each site, with a common "root".

After a week all seems to be going well.

+1 for LastPass.

Funnily enough, after much procrastination, I signed up for a 2 week trial of LastPass Premium a couple of weeks ago and paid for the first year shortly after. Works well across my mix of Win 10, OSX, and Android devices and using Google Authenticator to log in to LastPass means I have to worry even less about someone getting access to all my passwords if they manage to get into my LastPass Vault.

Actually, https://masterpasswordapp.com/ is superior in many ways to Lastpass.
