The 777s don't in F. No AVOD and no power. I checked and it says "coming soon."

Soon could be next year :)

Sorry. Mixing up two different threads. Again, my statement was for narrowbody planes. I haven't flown in an UA widebody in almost a decade.

Price seems pretty good compared to the newer version.

Or is this a better choice?

Some of the options posted here seem almost the same except for price :)

I wouldn't spend more than $10 on anything that didn't have QC 2.0... even if your current phone doesn't have it, your next phone probably will. You'll be stuck at around 10,000 mAH in the $30 range, or 15,000 mAH in the $40 range, but if you're spending a good bit for a high-capacity pack, I'd either make sure QC 2.0 is included.

I have that Anker E5, and take it all over with me. It keeps my iPad Mini and phone charged on long flights, or if I'm camping overnight, with enough power left over to charge more stuff.

If you have something that uses QuickCharge 2 and want that functionality, sure. But Apple devices don't use it and to be honest I don't feel a need for it.

Thanks. I suspect it will be more than enough power for us given our limited need. Cheaper is better :)

But it would come in handy (rather than our computer battery backup units) to keep the phones charged during a lengthy power failure, such as Sandy.

I guess being in the Apple Ecosystem with no plans of straying from it would be the one reason to not pay a premium for QC 2.0... anyone outside it should strongly consider it, even if only to be somewhat future-proof.

Has anyone seen one that is both QC2.0 certified, and has a built in USB cable? I can find one or the other, but not both.

I'd recommend the Anker Powercore models instead, mainly because of the 4A total output instead of 3A on the older ones. Most new phones (including the iPhone 6 and later) can use 2A inputs so they'll charge much faster if you give them the full 2A instead of 1A as many cheaper/smaller power packs provide.

This Anker Powercore 15600mAh is on sale for $25, cheaper than the first one you were considering :)

^^^
The specs are better than my older Anker and excellent price. Nice find CJ!

Mary2e Sep 14, 2015 1:38 pm

That was a nice find, but I ordered the $36.99 model I linked to above.

Our needs really are not that great, at least for now. And my husband remembered he was given a lipstick case battery as a door prize, so we have that too.

Generally speaking, it will be used to keep the ipad charged while watching a movie. I think it's adequate for that.

Thanks to all for the advice ^^

The iPad can definitely use a 2A charger, but you're right, the 1A will be adequate (just taking twice as long).

Lepow is having an 80% off sale on a bunch of phone accessories on Amazon; I just ordered yet another USB battery (5000 mAh with 2.1A output) for $5 :) Here are the details.

Just saw this ad on Facebook - Anker 10000mAh Quick Charge 2.0 battery.

Geez, how many different packs do they make?

Only real issue with that is the single USB output... for something in the 10000mAh range I'd expect 2 outputs with 1 being QC 2.0 and the other being good up to 2.1 or 2.4 amps.
