It's pretty light and small for the amount of power, and will essentially completely charge my iPad 2 with a little juice left over. It has both 1A and 2.4A outputs so charging is quicker with iDevices. Minimalist design with a single button which lights up 1-4 LEDs to indicate charge, automatically charges your device or itself when you attach. Certainly a reasonable size/weight to carry in a pants or jacket pocket (or a purse). Less than 6 ounces based on the shipping weight.

Walmart has it for sale at $24.97. http://www.walmart.com/ip/PNY-T7800m...rPack/39856413

Follow up :
I saw the T7800 for $22 and the T10000 (10000 mAh) for $26 at Office Depot today.

The PNY T10400 goes on sale Sunday at Office Depot for $26.24 (9/6-9/12). I'll be buying one primarily for international travel. T7800 also on sale at the same price.

Looks like a great solution but it is fairly large and heavy. I am not sure I would be willing to pack this beast around.

To be honest it's light , only about 150mm x 100mmx20mm. Approx

Best kit I have ever bought

Have you ever had any security screeners question it or give you any trouble?

Nope never had any problems in Europe anyway. Just pack it with my laptop and put it through security.

I've got an iPhone 4s that meets my needs, runs the current OS, will run (according to Apple) iOS9 and is fully paid for.

However, the battery runs out very fast. One long phone call can easily use 20% or more the battery's power. GPS? It's like water flowing out of a sieve.

If you have used one of those battery cases with the 4s I would appreciate your experience.
Thanks.

You may be better of replacing the battery (really not that hard and very cheap) AND adding a battery case which, if you're ok with the thickness, can more than double the battery life (on top of having a fresh battery in there to begin with).

Every major brand has something similar. I have an Anker pack which is also cheaper:

Thanks. I will consider doing both.

Is this still a good choice? It would be for keeping 2 phones powered (or charged) during an 8+ hour flight with no in seat power :( :( :( :(

Price seems pretty good compared to the newer version.

Or is this a better choice?

Some of the options posted here seem almost the same except for price :)

I have the older version and yet to run out of juice. Rated for iPhone with full recharge up to 6 times, doubt you'll need that much for both smartphones during 8 hr flight. I've used it for iPad air and watching movies on long flights.

I'd buy the newer one only because for same size you get 16000 vs 13000 but can't go wrong with either.

Thanks. I think I'll get the older one... it can't be that much longer that all UA flights don't have power - even in F

I should point out that I believe all UA non-RJ narrowbody aircraft have power ports in F. A decent majority have it in Y+. It's a crapshoot whether you get it in Y-.
