I should've checked here first, but I was in a hurry and ended up ordering the
Intocircuit Power Castle 11200mAh Portable 5V 2A/1A Dual USB Ports External Battery Pack Charger due to its good reviews on Amazon. It charged my iPhone 5 fairly quickly. I'll report back after my trip.
Will I be able to bring it with me without issues?

Edit to add no problems with security:)

I love the Anker E5. Charges relatively fast with a micro USB cord and can charge my iPad Air and iPhone multiple times. 1 port is 1A and the other is 2A for tablets. 15000mAh can usually last me a few trips. No issues with longevity so far after a year of use.

Thinnest/Lightest Power Bank For iPhone 6 Charging Only - Low Capacity Okay

I've been using a Mophie Juice Pack for years, I don't need it with the exceptional battery life in the iPhone 6.

I've never owned a power bank and I don't want something big and bulky, just something very thin and very light to keep in my backpack and obsessionally use in an emergency while traveling. I don't need something strong enough to do an iPad or have multiple days worth of iPhone charging either, looking to trade capacity for light weight and a slim profile.

Can anyone point me towards the slimmest, lightest charger that can get an iPhone recharged up to 75% or 90% in an emergency? Maybe something with the profile of a credit card?

Thanks.

BJ

The iphone 6 has an 1800 MaH battery, so you'd want something that is obviously about that size. A quick google search for "keychain lightning battery pack" revealed a few options.

That should give you a good start where to find something.

Really hard to beat the Anker battery packs. For what you've described, the Astro Mini is probably the way to go.

Never used this model but have other ones. Anker brand is reliable. The one I bought 2 years ago still can provide backup power and it appears astro mini carries 18 month warranty....

Got the Astro Gen2 and that thing is a monster. 20000 mah is amazing and the 6400mah also. Awesome products.

Wound up getting the Anker Astro 6400mAh Generation 2 today for $25 from Amazon. It's got enough juice to top-off a 50% depleted iPhone 6 about 5x during a 10 day road trip, weighs under 5 ounces, and easily can fit in a backpack without being noticeable.

Thanks to those who helped.

Thanks for the clarification

This is the one you ordered right?:

Did you have to also order an AC adapter to charge it? If I'm reading correctly it doesn't come with one. I have a Nexus 7 which uses MicroUSB but it only would charge at 1.35 amps... debating whether it's worth the extra $20 to buy a 3.5 amp charger

Yes, that is the one. It did not come with a wall charger, but I have so many of them I don't really care. I will probably just leave it in my truck plugged into the USB port to keep it topped off. I've also charged it from my laptop. Probably not the fastest, but letting it sit overnight when I sleep is not a big deal.

I have the Anker Mini 2nd gen 3200mah (not sure what the 1st gen was about) and a xiaomi 10400mah powerbank just for kicks/comparison.

i love the mini way more than the xiaomi, mainly due to the size/weight and portability. these criteria outweight the mAh for me

having a larger battery in the "briefcase" is lumpy and heavy. and when you're charging and still need to use your usb device, the anker mini still isn't intrusive. however, if you're away for more than 1 day at a time with no access to a wall charger, you may opt to go with a larger mAh.

I use the Anker Astro E5 15000mAh and have not had any problems so far.

I really like my Anker Astro Slim 2. It's pretty much the same size as an iPhone 5. That makes it easy to slip it into a pocket together with the phone. The built-in micro-USB cable is handy. I use that with a tiny micro-USB to Apple adapter, so I don't need to stuff a long Apple cable in my pocket as well.

I just ordered this one also. While the 20,000 mAh is great, it is just too bulky to carry in a pocket all day. I almost went for the lipstick size one, but the integrated cable and double battery life sold me on this. I usually carry two phones anyway, so I will just ditch the work phone and keep the slim battery with my Nexus 5 as I explore London and Scotland next week.
