USB Battery Packs

I'm using iPhone and my battery charger is RavPower 14000mAh. Have been travelling with it all the time and it's a great gadget with massive juice.
What's your phone and battery charger? Share it here with me.

My wife, brother and I all use Mophie Juicepacks and really like them. We have a variety of sizes and the phones include iPhone 4, 5, Windows Phone, etc.

With iPhone 4, 4s, and 5, I have used two Mophie products:

1) early version of Mophie Juice Pack Plus Case used with iPhone 4 and 4s,

http://www.amazon.com/Mophie-Recharg...eywords=mophie

Initially, I liked the design of the Juice Pack plus case. It worked well when I was around home. That is when you might only need twice the capacity of your phone battery. However, for long international trips, I found it did not have enough charge. I then bought a Mophie Powerstation so as to have additional capacity particularly for international trips. Note, I'm a heavy user of Google Maps when I travel.

2) Mophie Juice Pack Powerstation used with iPhone 4, 4s, and 5,

While I have handed the Mophie products off to my children who still use them, when I bought an iPhone 5 and iPad Mine I moved on to the NewTrent iCarrier line.

3) NewTrent iCarrier used with iPhone 5 and iPad mini

Aesthetically, it was ugly relative to the Mophie. However, they offered so much additional recharging capacity and at a relatively modest price that I had to give them a try. I have been pleasantly surprised and I am a fan of New Trent at this point. I use the iCarrier almost exclusively. I will carry it in my briefcase or satchel and top up the device during the day while I'm in a meeting or at lunch.

I suspect New Trent's PowerPak extreme will be the next such device I would buy.

Ultimately, I decided that the case based solutions did not provide enough additional power and made my iPhone more bulky. To some extent I think my recommendation would depend on your usage. For casual all day usage, particularly if you do not carry a briefcase or backpack, I believe the case products have their advantage. However, if I have a case or backpack with me as I typically would when at work or traveling on a multi-day trip then I would favor an external battery with as many mAh of extra charge as possible.

I just carry 2nd battery for my Galaxy S3

pseudoswede Sep 30, 2013 9:58 am

Galaxy S3

I have a 5000mAh unit. It works well enough for my purposes. The only annoyance is that it uses a miniUSB connection to charge.

May eventually switch to one that uses microUSB to charge and has a smaller profile.

Romoss 10400mAh. That's quite a lot of juice and very compact for that.

I carry two spare batteries for my S3 and a small plug in charger

I love the way that RavPower battery charger is compatible with many brands' phones. I have a Samsung S3 and my husband iPhone4S. We are using the battery together. Perfect~! One of my must-have in 2013. http://www.amazon.com/RAVPower-Light.../dp/B00EP6SA6Q

I have one of these that I keep in my daily bag for day to day use.

It's only a small one (3000mAh) but I only wanted it to keep in my bag for emergencies. The same company make higher capacity batteries in a variety of shapes and sizes and based on the quality of their mini item I'm considering getting a higher capacity for longer journeys.

Wish it also worked on the 6000 mAh one. :(

iPhone 4S. New Trent iTorch charger. Works well with all USB products and is light enough.

G Note 2 as primary phone- 3 batteries, a folding wall charger and one of these.

The Anker also works well with the other phones we use.
