I got the Xperia 10 and from reading some site, rooting is pretty popular.. But I'm a Novice at this and I didn’t even break my blackjack II when I had it... What is rooting and is it something one should do?

OK, is there any decent app that is similar to BerryBuzz for BB, a program that will allow for repeat aural alerts for SMS messages, VMs and missed calls?
I, for one, miss the repeated aural alerts that I had on all my dumbphones. A real smartphone will allow the user to configure for repeat aural alerts, a benefit for those that do not have visual access to our phones but may be within earshot.

Rooting, basically gives access to the operating system, root access, and then you can do all sorts of things with the phone
You can install custom ROMs (which is the operating system), change kernels (the code in which the operating system runs, and allows you to overclock the phone), in my phone you can do wireless tethering (free) , change fonts, use programs for backup/restore, take screenshots and many other features
It's a good thing to do, after the initial jitters, you should be OK

Sale is over apparently, even though the description in the market still shows the prices above. The checkout page has the regular price of $4.99 and $19.99.

Sipdroid just launched their newest version which includes support for Google Voice via pbxes.org. It's a bit of a pain to setup initially but it gives you direct dialing via a Google Voice account, which is rather big. No ringback - total direct dialing out of the app.
?????????????I've just installed SIPdroid on my android phone. The new 2.0.1. I signed up for pbxes.org.and I think I linked it with Google voice, but somehow it is not working. When ever I try to call only thing I can hear is my own voice. It even has the green dot on the top notification bar. I need some really simple step by step instructions or else I wouldn't know anything. I am really new to these stuff. Hope anyone can help.

Chase Bank App!
At long last, the new Chase bank app for Android is out. It came out a few weeks ago, I think.
The big, cool feature that the Android app shares with the iPhone version is the ability to deposit checks just by taking pictures of the front and back of the check.

There was a problem with the google voice integration. Try it now. They sent me an email a day or so ago saying it was fixed.

It's newer than a few weeks ago. I have had my Android for exactly two weeks and it was the first app I looked for and it wasn't there.
I didn't know about depositing checks through pictures. Very, very
and will save me the two hour drive to my closest branch or the wait for USPS to deliver.

They don't have the mobile deposit feature, but you can transfer between accounts and make payments, which will come in handy.

Has anyone used "Airport Remote"? The app turns your mobile into a Arrival and Departure Monitor. I hate paying for apps but for $4 this might be really useful.
