The Staten Island Ferry is great for Lower Manhattan

As much as I dislike crossing the river, Flair is the best place in Shanghai for taking pics (assuming nice weather):

While the drinks are expensive, you only need one or two, and the Hyatts are in the same league, but don't have outdoor seating, and are often in the clouds (i.e. no view).

Would they let you use tripods up there? Because that's what you'd have to do to get all those night shots.

I believe so, but I'm not 100% certain. Odds would be best on a Tuesday or Wednesday, when they are not busy.
