Seen them too but seemed more as a replacement aircraft then an actual aircraft on the route.

Since HS-THM became operational a few days ago, TG added PEK and DXB to their A350 routes.

No one can really know. TG still sells F class to SYD for next year. I would expect they leave 1 flight with F class out of the 2 daily ones but in the news article it says differently - it will all be flat bed flights in J hence A350.

With only one A350 to be delivered, they basically can start at least one daily A350 to SYD.

I would have thought SYD has a higher priority than PEK and DXB!

I came in on TG 945 from FCO, A350, in J on a GUP. The plane was 80% and J about 95%. The timing of this flight is a bit odd: 1355 departure for 0545 arrival ( on Europe summer time) makes it a bit strange for sleep patterns ( ie, for me at least only really wanting to sleep as we got close to BKK) and where are arriving tourists going to go at 0500? Their hotels maybe not very welcoming for early checkin so early.
I any case we got a huge jetstream boost and arrived at 0445, only to get a bus stand and a wild thunderstorm.
Anyway, I wonder why Thai doesn't time some of its Europe flights differently ( I like the AF and BA morning departures ex BKK).

Paolo,

they schedule all intercontinental flights to/from BKK in order that they will connect to regional flights within Asia.
That's also the reason why the flight to/from Munich had been shifted a couple of years ago from a very convenient evening departure from MUC and overnight return from BKK

unfortunately there are only few airlines left, which have both evening departure flights from Europe to BKK and back (one is Austrian, any others?)
I think it is mainly the long stopover of the plane, which is not economical and which would be necessary for such a schedule. A quick turnaround is nowadays more common

There are usually between 4 to 7 daily flights between IST and other major european cities. Ataturk airport is operating at it full capacity so at peak times it can be challenging for inexperienced travelers. A new replacement airport is going to officially open in Oct. 2018 and be operational during 2019. TK has a great J level lounge. The best in its class IMO.
Compared to FRA and MUC, it’s not as big as those airport and on the way from Europe to BKK, there’s no need to go via security again (because Europe is considered a clear zone) so you immediately arrive at the departure gate area.

Usually worse than out of MNL
Regular price is around $3,500 with promotions going as low as around $2,000.

Take a look at the following link: Promotion BKK-europe?
