Expiring TG Miles
I fly about 80K miles a year with TG and also use ThaiAirways Credit Care (Citibank Thailand) to accrue miles, however with the number of miles for free flights that has increased over the years means I must save more miles, however they expire in about 3 years..... Any way to have TG miles not expire other than getting platinum level (which means I must only fly first class) ?

1) Previously yes but this only existed in the International lounge so you also had to check-in for the international flight in Phuket. You now need to check-in at the new International terminal so who knows what awaits, I can't even find out how we CIQ passengers get to the domestic gate. It also seems that you may need to allow 2-3 hours for immigration in Phuket such is the shambles there. You should in theory, as F, be escorted through the VIP channel.
2) There are flights nearly every hour HKT - BKK, why do you want to be in BKK for 8 hours? You cannot leave 'airside' in BKK if you have done immigration in Phuket.

2: I am on an award ticket. The original plan was to take an earlier plane and spend most of the day in Bangkok. Unfortunately, this plane was cancelled and TG put me on a later flight. I can change it, but that means getting up early (no way! on vacation) or going so late that I will not be able to enjoy the First lounge at BKK. The in-between flights do not have any award inventory available.
To be honest, I do not understand the going trough imigration part in Phuket.. It is a dommestic flight, why do they do imigration there then?

I flew out of the new terminal about ten days ago. It was quite a mess . . . backup at the x-ray machines to enter the check-in counters and then a very long line at immigration. It seemed the computers the immigration officers were using were very very slow.
If you can book the F onward flight from BKK, that would be well worth it for F ground services at HKT.

Hi, first time flyer with THai Airways. I had an award flight issued by AE with a leg from BKK-HND in F for Jan 2017. Aircraft got changed (research shows that this is common and knowned as TGed ). I've requested to be rerouted to fly BKK-KIX-HND, and my KIX to HND was confirmed but I'm on a waiting list for BKK-KIX portion.
What's the usual turnaround time for waiting lists to open? Am I considered as a regular waiting list or in a "special" priority list due to involuntary change? Is there history members can provide with success rates in waiting lists or is it completely random?

depends on your status, on weekday
by the way BKK HND has two flights per day on TG; maybe the other has F?
in Nov day flight is 747 with F and the other 773 with two class

why don't you want to do immigration in Phuket? that's the normal way to do if you have a connecting international flight from BKK; if you stay domestic, you can also not check your bags through and have to pick them up and check in again in BKK; in addition I doubt you would get pick up and escort service for F in HKT and BKK
Are you sure I can not send my bags trough while if I want to do this? Most other places in the world it would be no problem.
Edit: i now see that an award seat has opened on a later flight that day, so I will try to grab it instead and only have 4 hours at bkk..
Edit 2: Got the later award seat, so now I have 4 more hours in phuket instead, and can enjoy First services all the way in BKK and in HKT (if any). :-D

usually 90 minutes arrival before departure is enough if you are J or F on international
