I'm thinking we should establish a permanent substitute to chat amongst ourselves.
There is literally no excuse for how many times FT chat fails & for how long (weeks/months) it takes IB to get it sorted - and given they're in the IBB bizness AND they own vBulletin, it's not like they're newbies to the technology.

It's been 20 days since chat went offline, and 19 days since the last word from IB.
I've come to not expect much from IB, especially when chat goes down, but this is pretty crazy. I don't know what kind of business would allow problems to continue for almost three weeks without any updates on the issue, or the steps they are taking to prevent this from happening in the future.

They don't have to. However, they do. And they should maintain it. If you look to the beginning of this thread, you'll see that this is certainly not the first time that chat has gone down.

Why doesn't IB come clean & say it's not a priority & never will be one.
It's a month later & I still can't access it. Chat has had problems since IB has taken over & it takes forever to get them fixed. FTers mention it; IB serves up pablum & that's it.
And to quote myself from almost 2 months ago:

To be quite blunt (bolding above mine) - TOTAL BULL.
