robb .. I have never said or alleged ANY of the above - anywhere on FT - at any time, so have no idea whatever what your point is?
If you were directing your comments toward someone else please say so, and leave ME well out of it. Thank you.
But seeing you posted, it might be prudent to re-assure you of my noble intentions, and add (another) locked down thread link where avek00 clearly appreciates my campaigning efforts on his behalf and has indeed just named me as the "President of the avek00 fan club."

As you can see there was stampede of folks apparently pledging their vote to him after my post, and I thank him for bestowing on me the honour:

While I've been known to agree with OzStamps once in a while, ok; at least once, we here in the good ol' USA have a right to express our opinions (even if you disagree).
As for avek (and a few others
, )whats the expression they say in England... 'God save the Queen.'
< translation ... I wish the TB election was over.
Been there, done that.

Oh, and another thing I did not do was call avek00 (or anyone else) a Queen.

Keep posting, avek, every time you do you lose still more votes to one of the many other pleasant, non-trolling, helpful, non-flaming, non-controversial candidates, all of whom are your superior in every qualification.
What's more, I'm sure I am not alone in looking forward to celebrating your defeat come August 31, where it will be clear for even you to see how you are regarded by the FT community.

Don't vote for, or feed, the troll:

(you can read about the deleted personal attack referenced in the aforementioned thread in http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...000736-2.html)
In short:
Lots of trolling every airline's forum except CO. Won't even answer questions about where his information comes from in some of the trolling posts, and a trail of posts either self-deleted or deleted by forum moderators.
I've asked avek in this very forum what his stance on trolling is. He has refused to answer the question. I think it should be crystal clear as to why he won't answer the question.
I don't really expect that I'll see a response to this that addresses the message instead of shooting the messenger. The uttter refusal to address this issue ought to be reason enough to vote elsewhere.

I've already made my position on trolling quite clear: Posters who continue to degrade the quality of FlyerTalk through incessant personal attacks will be strongly dealt with.
Unfortunately, some people are trying to confuse controversial posts with outright attacks. Nonetheless, most reasonable people know the difference, and realize that controversial posts/posters are OK while habitual attackers are not.
I admit that in one instance, I experienced a lapse in judgement and posted a personal attack against techgirl - I'm sorry that I did such an act, and emailed Randy personally not long after committing the offense. However, some posters on FlyerTalk have resolved themselves to launch sustained personal attacks in a vain effort to force other members off FlyerTalk -- this is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE, and egregious offenders who do not promptly realize the error of their ways will soon find themselves out of the Community for good.
I hope that I have answered your question ClueByFour.

Being newly appointed as President of the Avek00 Fan club by the worthy Candidate, I need to tread a fine line here, wearing 2 hats.

One hat as Fan Club President, and one as someone who has been getting rather pisssed off with avek00's new burst of trolling on the UA Forum this week after a thankful month or so of very commendable restraint from him doing so, or seldom posting there at all.
Not all would agree with avek00's definition of "Trolling" above. To come to any forum, and deliberately bait regular users of that airline by posting total and unsourced and unsubstantiated fiction is 'Trolling' by most definitions.
To plain INVENT posts about 'new company policy' and sit back and watch the reaction from folks who realise this is 100% baloney is trolling IMO. And adds NOTHING new or substantative to that forum.
Now with my President cap on, I will not reach into the Archives and post 20 threads like this from January to amply re-enforce that point, as (hopefully?) such juvenile drivel is a thing of the past.
So in fairness, let's just focus on any pertinent posts made THIS week, i.e. since the 'Election Campaign' has been well and truly in play. Any savvy Candidate really serious about getting votes would of course be SUPER mindful of their posts in ALL forums during this period. Well one would think so.
This below was just one example from the past week week in UA, where a respected FT'er, transpac DID feel (and posted thus) that avek00 had made a personal attack on him. Simply as avek's fictional nonsense was exposed for what it was, and he tried to squirm out of the mess:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum.../021066-2.html
Also this week avek tried to incite responses by alleging the UA premium cabins were run down and decrepit. In my view this is not correct at all, and I sat in 6 of them long haul in the last few weeks. When asked when the last time he ever saw, much less SAT in a United Premium It'l cabin avek's response was "the year 2000"!
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum50/HTML/021135.html
Many might say posting totally ill-informed comments such as that, for which one has no recent personal experience whatever is "Trolling". It does not breach the TOS strictly - but IMO it is calculated to create a riot, and more than likely have the thread closed down. However avek00 posts above in this thread seems to feel that is perfectly acceptable. To HIM anyway.
I'd be interested to hear Avek00's take and reasoning on why these posts were NOT TROLLING before I continue on the campaign trail and order those 50,000 buttons. They are on 'hold' right now.

I have to ask... how do you intend to help members "find themselves out of the Community for good". As far as I know, that is Randy's sole decision... not the Talkboard's.
I would appreciate knowing how you intend to follow-up and make this campaign promise happen.

1. In the first thread, I simply relayed what had been told to me by United personnel. The info. was further corroborated by the fact that only a couple of weeks earlier, I had no difficulty in booking the Star Asia awards via Europe.
I also note, however, that no one has refuted my claim with ANY evidence, not even the comments of a UA supervisor.
2. Numerous comments regarding the sorry state of UA's premium cabins (and in particular on the 747-400 aircraft) can be found with a search through FT Archives. AFAIK, UA has not refurbished its 747 fleet, so the condition of the cabins ostensibly could not have improved.
Therefore, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY reject ANY assertion that my activities over the past week could be characterized as trolling. They were NOT intended to degrade FlyerTalk or the United forum, and indeed DID not -- some posters who are hellbent on poisioning FlyerTalk through the harrassment of others decided to troll based on my postings.

Although the decision on whether to boot someone is ultimately up to Randy, I believe that he would likely support a TalkBoard plan to address the issue of personal attackers.
Such a plan would need to include tough formal penalties for repeat and egregious offenders, such as longer-term and permanent handle/IP bans. An effective plan would also demand diligence from our moderators, most of whom do an excellent in the unbiased regulation of their forums. But above all, it would call upon the Community as a whole to stand up to the attacker and deprive him or her of the attention sought by making the attack.
As a member of TalkBoard, I would seek to take a leading role in crafting a plan to keep FlyerTalk safe from frequent attackers. I hope that I can count on your support to help make such a plan a reality.
