I have seen enough of avek00's posts even before this thread has come about, to come to a realization that in my humble opinion, his contribution (or lack thereof) to what FlyerTalk is all about, closely matches what I believe his username stands for:

Avek, similar to the French word "avec" = "with" 00 = double goose egg, which in plain simple American english means "nothing"

Will a single quarter do it?? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

If you object to avek00, don't vote for him. The "piling-on" on this thread seems excessive, no matter what the perceived crime (and yes, I've read the threads).

Just my opinion.

I didnt. I respect your opinion but I think "piling-on" is a bit unfair. Its not like anyone else started this thread and its not like he hasnt continued the discussion. I firmly believe that avek or anyone else should be allowed to say pretty much whatever they want here. I dont even care if he states quite negative things about me, even ad hominem attacks. Its his opinion. But I think people should be able to reply and that is happening here.

Edited to add ad hominem.....

Avek,

I would think that it is important to for us to understand the depth of you knowledge and understanding of the issues of the FF in order for anyone to vote for you. Could you please answer my question posted above vis-a-vie your more helpful and positive post contributions?

Um, now you are pulling our chains arent you?

If after nearly 3600 posts all you can come up with are 6 items where you effectively respond with one-worders or only parrot others' journalism, you're pretty pathetic.

If we look at the majority of your other posts, we realize they are defensive responses to the crap you get for the annoyance that you are and which you raise.

Keep posting, punko. You're writing your own epitaph.

Here I go poking my head in whilst on holiday and I laughed so hard at Avek's reply that I nearly pissed myself.

What a humanitarian Avek is! ROFLMAO!

A little extreme, methinks. And definitely along the line of gettin' personal.

Avek00 may provoke responses, but we are all responsible for our reactions.

Avek00 may not be PremEx, Rudi, or some of our other wisest and most helpful members. But then again I would never consider myself in that pantheon, either.

We're all members of this community -- at least until Randy says otherwise! -- and while I have historically had little sympathy for Avek I have just as little patience for folks who take the bait and raise the stakes.

A person's posts stand on their own merit. Avek posted links that we can all judge. Sometimes no response (or at least an understated one) gets the point across best.

Regards,
Gary

Oh my god.

OH MY GOD!!

HYSTERICAL!!!

Avek you have GOT TO BE KIDDING!!!

I KNOW you're not serious w/ those links... you simply CAN'T be!!

Good one, you got us!!

You absolutely, positively can't be serious.

To anyone who hasn't taken the time to click the "helpful and informative" links-- you MUST, really, I promise, you won't be disappointed!

transpac Aug 25, 2003 4:37 pm

A new shortest book ever written, "avek00's positive contributions to the FT community".

Is that understated enough? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

dallasflyer Aug 25, 2003 4:44 pm

So Jon do you think the links will garner a lot of votes from FFers for Avek00? I glad he sent some cause I just couldn't find any on my own.

Avek00, you really need to access what we are doing here and what role you wish to play. You have thousands of posts yet "not very many" are on point for FFers. Maybe you could embrace a student role instead of trying to teach about something you really don't understand. Wish you the best, however I can't believe that talkboard is in the cards anytime soon. You just aren't ready, as your own posts point out.

Let the jury of peers decide, cause as far as I'm concerned, he's made his own bed, and now he needs to sleep in it.

Besides, I'll bet avek thinks he's pretty good at holding his own.

For years I've been putting up with his bull****. Enough is enough.
