The same treatment was accorded to fonseca33, who seems to have finally been chased off FT. </font> www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum71/HTML/017511.html fonseca33 is, by his own admission, not a frequent flyer. He's 14 or 15. He hasn't flown AA in several years, and could only point to one AA flight at all (MIA-ATL). His frequency of inane posts has diminished in the past year (like why doesn't AA buy A-380s and fly LIT-NRT). Perhaps he's maturing. He certainly wasn't "chased off" and even if he was, is FlyerTalk any worse for it? If one never contributes anything useful, is the community worse off when the non-contributor retires? EXP@15 may have been "chased off" as well - but you can't make a straightfaced argument that the community suffered because of his absence. This site exists to discuss miles and points, and fonseca33's posts did neither. Plenty of juvenile questions about AA yet nothing useful. During his prime he even managed some personal attacks on longtime posters who didn't deserve such treatment. All while not once contributing a useful point about AAdvantage or American Airlines. Not once. Several members said "But he's an airline enthusiast." As we all know, that's the province of www.airliners.net and fonseca33 was encouraged to discover that vibrant community. He was even encouraged to become a frequent flyer so he could make useful contributions to The world's most popular frequent flyer community. My six year olds like airplanes. They're also elite members of AAdvantage. Should I encourage them to join FlyerTalk and post inane questions (like some of fonseca33's early questions) each day after school? How would THAT improve FlyerTalk? Would their presence make FlyerTalk a better place? As for avek00, I agree with dallasflyer - if everyone would remember that FlyerTalk exists to discuss points and miles first, it would certainly be a better place. Me included. Offering to never post on the AA forum if elected to the TalkBoard says something about the author's opinion about the quality of contributions that avek00 makes to the AA forum. |

Of course that's just my opinion. I could be wrong. |

However, given the course of this specific thread, I felt that it was not improper to highlight my latest topic in the UA forum. ------------------ Continental Airlines - One airline CAN make a difference. |

When you saw him in person, did you see any "666" tattoos?

While I applaud all the various opinions here, I wonder about the intelligence of Ave's from "tag line" about personal attackers.
Is that really necessary? PS I did find the previous CO tagline pretty annoying too. There is no way I would have posted a similarly annoying UA tagline in another airline forum. |

The AAvek AAdvantage...
"I hereby pledge that should I be elected to the TalkBoard, I will refrain from posting any comments on the American Airlines forum, WITHOUT EXCEPTION. The refrain will last for the duration of my TalkBoard tenure. Furthermore, I will insist that the posting restriction be incorporated into my terms and conditions as a TalkBoard member, such that any breach of this commitment on my part would constitute sufficient grounds for my removal from the TalkBoard". I bet there is whooping and hollers of joy on the AA board now they have learned that avek00 did NOT get elected? |
