Are there rules regarding locking threads?

The moderator posted that it has been moved to TravelBuzz... perhaps it has not happenned yet. I seem to remember some conversation about how a moderator in Miles Forum cannot move things to the Travel Forum. It has to be done by Randy's staff. I would expect it to appear somewhere soon.
It does not seem like an appropriate topic for MilesBuzz. You were questioning airline pricing and advertising policy... nothing directly related to earning mileage. Of course, any question can some way be related back to miles... but this was not direct.
Of course, there are other posts that certainly are questionable as well.

Thanks Gents. Well, it does show I am rather "rusty".
Had never seen that tiny line of type BEFORE a thread actually starts saying it had been moved. First time I personally have noticed that. And yes I waited quite some time before posting after I checked all the 'possible' places it may have been moved to, and it certainly is not in TravelBuzz as this is typed, nor was it when I posted.
I recalled I had read previously that moving between the "Miles" and "Travel" sections was now readily possible to Moderators but had certainly not been straight forward for a while?
Anyway, thanks for the heads up, question answered, and I will go add an interesting update to it, as the Government policy re advertising all ticket prices to include all taxes and fees and round trip cost has just become national, and is commencing immediately.

I also have never seen that new header above the thread.. since it would be so easily overlooked, I wonder if a font or color change might be in order - or an announcement that this is the new procedure?
And maybe I'm blind, or maybe Wharvey has it right that there is a delay between the announcement the thread is being moved and the actual move, but it doesn't appear to be in TravelBuzz either..
All that being said, I don't really dispute that it's a TravelBuzz topic as opposed to a MilesBuzz one.. it's methods I question. By the time it's actually moved over there, the date (I assume) could place it off the front page of TravelBuzz.. effectively squashing an otherwise interesting conversation.

FWIW, while I saw the announcement, eventually, (highlighting it would surely help), I have yet to see it in TRAVELBUZZ thusfar.
Amtrak rather than a flight over?
