Nah, you just get past it and begin to think of him as someone else.

I was more interested in the game of guessing who arturo might be, and trying only to point out that lots of us have ruled ourselves out of contention. But I do like your idea of the arturo defense to a charge of using multiple handles; the problem is that it doesn't work if more than one of the handles isn't "arturo."

I personally believe that anyone who has ever registered more then one handle on FT ought to be drawn and quartered....

Hmmmm. Forgot to put in the , didn't you.

If one were quartered, I guess one would then qualify for *four* handles, so someone who already had three would still have one to go?

Ive been a good boy (for a while) and stayed out of this mess.

What started out as an intelligent question has degenerated into a thread that makes Omni ( the cesspool of FT) look good.

BTW, I still have not seen an official answer to the original question.. (unless it got lost somewhere in the 5 pages of Omniesque)

Interesting observation mikey1003. On one hand, I really would like an answer to my original question, but on the other hand, I think it is important that threads have the freedom to flow where they will.

The most interesting discussions and disoveries I have made on FlyerTalk were when the conversation just flowed naturally. Getting too heavy handed with retrictions removes all spontaneity and results in boredom. I think that the popularity of the Word Association in OMNI is an excellent example of how much people really do enjoy spontaneous responses.

Yes, we need rules, but we also need to be able to have fun.

Yes, but fun still won't get an answer to your question. If the answer is not important, why ask the question?

I fail to see the link between this (a serious question that has gotten way out of hand) and a word releation thread in OMNI

Just my 2 cents...

You are absolutely right, Scott, that fun won't get me an answer to my very serious question. Since, however, almost a month has elapsed since I asked it and no clear answer has been forthcoming, I am willing to just give it up and have fun instead.

I too also have to scratch my head in confusion about locked threads.

I might be 'rusty' here on FT but did think this thread belonged correctly in Miles Buzz? And dare I say it was an issue many would have constructive thoughts on? And who knows, maybe active discussion would have lead to the misleading practice being stopped? There were two responses pretty soon after posting, so it seemed on topic and of interest?

Thread subject was a side issue raised within a 'Mileage Run' forum thread, and seemed like it was worthy of stand-alone discussion so as not to side-track that thread. I did not cross link from the Mileage Run forum on it, so is not (I hope) a "cross posting" issue? It was not in the least controversial or in poor taste etc.

However I notice the thread was locked without comment or note as to why and where it was moved. I fully appreciate that the efforts to keep Miles Buzz "on topic" have been beneficial and positive, and have no problem with that whatever - just nice to be able to find where the "non-acceptable" ones go to. Not my business that it was moved ..... I just wanted to find it.

Assumed it had gone to 'Travel Buzz'. Nope. 'Misplaced Threads'. Nope. Possibly OMNI - well that Forum is down for a few days so that may be the answer? (Although I respectfully submit it has nothing to do with an Omni topic?) Is there any other logical Forum it might have been moved to does anyone know? There must be an obvious place - perhaps I just have not been savvy or alert enough to locate it yet?

However, if anyone DOES happen to ever see my thread again, appreciate a short email or a post here so that I might know where to find it!

I am hoping to learn what is now applicable and pertinent to Miles Buzz. I did note with some curiousity a thread entirely devoted to telling us where to print out a voucher for a $10 free gas certificate every time you stay at any Holiday Inn is perfectly fine and only a few days old, and that an email from US Air to their customers about their shaky financials also is apparently about 'miles and points'.

Glen, look again. At the very top of the now closed thread it says in bold print This topic has been transferred to this forum: TravelBuzz!. I looked at it there just a few moments ago.
