Thoughts on Row 50 & 51 on Swiss B777 (2-4-2)?
Hey everyone! So I saw Row 50 and 51 on the Boeing 777 is a 2-4-2 configuration ... does anyone have any experience with the 2 part? Row 51 may be unpleasant given proximity to lavatory, but was thinking Row 50 may be nice. SeatGuru suggests it may not be due to misalignments and what not ... so curious to hear if anyone's had experiences to share? Thanks in advance!

Swiss B777 business seat choice help please
Hello,
It is many years since I flew with Swiss but I have an upcoming B777 flight from Singapore to ZRH next month. I have a choice between the following seats: 7K (bulkhead?), 9K, or 7G. I am tall and have large feet so prefer a larger foot well. Any advice from the Swiss seat gurus much appreciated. Thanks in advance. TB |

TB You can see photos of seat 7K (and other seats) here (in the 3rd photo). 7G as an aisle seat and the corresponding wider footwell (but exposure to the aisle) would be the next best - or better if aisle access is important. There is a glimpse of 7G in another photo on the linked site. |
Hi all -
I'm sure it's buried somewhere in this forum, but I have a quick seating question: I just booked an award flight in business on the 777 from SFO to ZRH - I reserved 5D as is seemed like the best availble choice (mini cabin, not exposed directly on aisle) - is my assessment here correct? Also, I'll have about 4 house before my connection to Vienna - any advice on the best Swissl lounge? I have Star Alliance GOld status if that's helpful - Thanks in advance for any advice/thoughts! |

SEN lounge in A is your lounge. If you want to try SEN in E first and then go over to A that could work too, but I personally wouldn't bother and go direct to A. E has a view, is larger and less crowded late afternoon but you will have immigration (and security if you go to the lounge) between E and A and the time required is unpredictable, though usually not more than 15 min. |

Good choice, even if one of a pair it has aisle access and a big table between the neighboring seat.

As you say, 7K is a bulkhead but the window seat of a pair. Unless you intend to get out of the seat all the time, that would be the best seat for you on a long night flight.

Austrian B777 business seat advice please
Apologies, I just realised that this is probably in the wrong thread:
Supplementary question to my previous enquiry about Swiss: Again I have not travelled on Austrian for many years but have a VIE to BKK flight coming up on the B777 soon, travelling solo. I currently have a choice of seats 1G, 7K, or various other centre or window seats situated in pairs. I am almost 2m tall with large feet so a larger foot well is preferred. I see that 1G is a centre bulkhead seat, whereas 7K sits behind a throne. Can I assume that 1G would have better legroom / foot space? Any advice from Austrian seat experts will be appreciated. Kind regards, TB |

Unless you really want a window, I'd suggest to move to 5D. Aisle access and a large table. It's more or less a day flight so leg space wouldn't matter too much I presume.

A330 econ bulkhead review - 23K
Just returned from Zurich. Thought I'd post a couple pictures of seat 23K on a Swiss A330, as this was info I found somewhat hard to find. 23AB would have the mirror of these JK 'cubbies'. 22DFG appeared to have quite good legroom also, no cubbies, though I did not have a chance to test it. Only once did I notice someone cut across DFG to change aisles and it was a youth wanting to talk to the person in 23J (unrelated to me). I thought the extra space was reasonably priced at $104 upcharge. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...dfb478cf2.jpeg Swiss economy seat 23JK bulkhead cubby space Plenty of legroom. No stowage during takeoff or landing, though FAs didn't mind the pillow and blanket being stashed there. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...ea1616ea2.jpeg Swiss A330 economy bulkhead seat 23K Seat did feel pretty narrow (flew a UA 737 after this leg and that seat felt very similar, aka 17.3" perhaps?). Tray table of course was swing-up from the center armrest. Because the 23J tray is in a similar spot, the remote for that seat's IFE actually protrudes into the left hip-space of 23J by a good inch or so. I never used my remote since the swing-up monitor is so close. Screen was small, with low rez and the touch response was sluggish but worked fine. Forgot my two-pin adapter so had to use the very flimsy earbuds provided, which for 2.5 hours of watching was okay. If I''d wanted to watch IFE for most of the flight, I'd have really regretted the Swiss buds. I didn't get much of a chance to look at 29DEFG, but that legroom might be a bit smaller than row 22 center bulkhead? It definitely did not appear to be able to function as a cross-aisle, so unlike some layouts on A330s (I'm most familiar with Delta) one really can't easily go from the lav pair on aisle 2 to access the pair on aisle 1 unless making the trek to the rear galley. Full flight, so there were lav queues a couple times, but not bad. Also unlike DL, the Swiss cabin crew left the lights on, in a somewhat bright but soothing organgey-red tone for the entire 9+ hour westbound day flight. Wasn't a bother with eye shades on for napping, but also not enough light to read my book without additional light. That said, I didn't feel bad about having my window shade up a few inches (I've been mildly reprimanded for that on DL, which I tend to ignore because I want daylight to help start resetting my circadian rhythm) since the cabin isn't otherwise pitch-dark on the day crossing. Food was fine, and about sufficient for the duration (main lunch on level-off, ice cream service halfway, small but hearty cheese quiche near arrival). I did not go aft to look for snacks as I'd brought a few in my easy-to-grab from the cubby backpack. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...3162e3263.jpeg Chicken, creamy barley, green beans, with couscous salad, roll, cheese and a cherry cake dessert. Real silverware is a plus! |
