Looking at some flights in April.

Are they still not offering Throne seats on the LX38 at OLCI?

They have monetized it in preparation for Sense?

Thanks. That is exactly what I did and I was glad of it. Cheers

All my flights this year in J haven't released the throne seats for free during OLCI. I did see a lower fee on my last flight during OLCI for some throne seats. I haven't asked at the counter or gate though...

Well that makes the decision easier for me then, choose other Star Alliance business for TATL segments.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the Throne seats. They feel boxed in for me. I prefer being in the small J cabin up front in the single seats on the right side. Looking at the Senses seat maps, the middle throne seats look even less appealing. I will have to try them out some day..

Agreed. My order of preference is something like this:

Upgrade to F
4A
6A (Airbus) or 7A (Boeing)
5K (Airbus)
4K (Airbus)
Non-exposed bulkhead (A or B)
Odd K seats (Airbus)
Exposed bulkhead
Throne
the rest

I'm not necessarily a fan either. But it's the only one where it's by itself so it's going to be in demand rather than those rows where there are two seats next to each other on the window.

It's the only one which is like more modern layouts where everyone has aisle access and some separation from the closest passenger.

I need a little advice for an upcoming LX flight that has repeatedly changed aircraft type. When booked it was an A220, so selected the first two seats available without extra charges - 15A/C. Flight then changed to A320; got same seats, so moved us together to 15B/C. Flight changed again to A220, seats assigned in different rows on opposite sides of the plane but able to change back to 11A/C this time. Paid section later expanded, so back to 15A/C on A220. Last week it switched to A320 again and now in 15A/C. Two questions: Should I just ignore this and see what else happens? (2 months to flight.) Is it worth paying for two of the more forward seats on A320, with hopes middle seat will remain vacant, extra legroom, etc? There doesn't appear to be an option to upgrade to J on this leg, which I would certainly consider if reasonably priced.

I would just wait with worrying about the seats until you are closer to the time flight is taking place. IME the best time to pick a seat is when the curtain is moved which is like 2 days before departure.

At/after check in I was able to select a throne seat for free. I have AZ Premium, and can think of only that as the reason why

ced_lx Sep 11, 2025 1:44 pm

What flight? And what is AZ premium?

LX 86 ZRH-YUL

AZ premium is ITA Club Premium, which is supposed to be similar to Senator. BP reflected “AZP”

No seat assignments in J?

Hello I have a paid business class tix Zurich SFO in January (outbound is United and booked together). On the Swiss web and app it says no seat assignments available. I have always been able to do this before, even if I had to pay. Is this a glitch or new?

Seatguru doesn't have a seat map for my Swiss a320neo.
I chose 4D (middle) because everyone else picked middle.

Is there a better seat?

4D is an isle seat, you can choose either a window seat or an isle seat because middle seats B, E in Business Class remain blocked (unoccupied) and there's not much difference between the rows
