4D is an isle seat, you can choose either a window seat or an isle seat because middle seats B, E in Business Class remain blocked (unoccupied) and there's not much difference between the rows

Oh.. so it's not 1-2-1?
It's basically the same as econ except noone in the middle seat?

Yes, glad I got aisle seat

Correct, that's Business Class on European flights

I'm considering some awards and there are some Saver Awards on LX39 and LX38, between SFO and ZRH, using United Mileage Plus miles.

Of course that means UA MP members don't get a choice in which seats they choose, unless they pay for specific seat selection.

Has anyone paid to select the Throne seats recently on the LX 777s?

as with all upgrades, it’s a personal preference. For me, the thrones are nice but worth 0$ to me. I rather put that towards a bid for F or something else.

The thrones are the only seats with privacy right?

All the other seats you're sitting right next to someone and one of you won't have aisle access?

The Sense will have all aisle access but some of the lower-priced seats (presumably they will be lower priced) have less privacy with some having very little separation from the neighboring seat.

On the 333, the single window seats closer to the fuselage (odd row numbers) are very private as well. Honestly, all Senses seats look more private than the current setup.

What is the best first class seat for a solo traveler on Swiss A-330 cabin?

A or K seats - whether row 1 or 2 is a matter of personal preference. I prefer row 2 with no one behind but other prefer row 1.

And, getting very nitpicky, K on Westbound, A on Eastbound as per the good old POSH to avoid the sun.

I prefer A rather than K as you do not have to cross through the galley to get to the lavatory.

Thank you all. Chose seat 2A. It’s an eastbound flight and 1A is taken. Maybe we will fly far enough north to see aurora borealis.

Learned a valuable lesson today about seat assignments. I booked exit row seats for my two return flights on LX for free with my AZ status. After changing my FF program for my upcoming outbound flight on UA on the day of check-in (*G, but not with M&M), the LX seats were swept away very quickly on the inbound segment of the trip (UA to Europe, LX back to USA). Needless to say, I swapped my AZ FF number back into my reservation to get them back. I wasn't unable to re-select seats online, so I had to call LX. When I called to reinstate them, I was told I didn't pay the fee within 48 hours so they were lost. Apparently, they revert to payment due at the time of selection as soon as the status is removed from the itinerary. Fortunately, my seats were still available and I was (hopefully) able to get them restored. Yet another very cheap and shady practice by LH group. Even fellow race-to-the-bottom frontrunner BA doesn't remove confirmed seat assignments due to a subsequent change in status.

I wonder how much they collect from these seat selection fees. Are they a big and consistent source of revenues?

That must explain Allegris and Sense?

Guess they are.

Checked my flight in February, LX 777-300ER. EUR 120 for extra legroom seat, HKG - ZRH.

Im guessing the answer is NO...

I booked 3 partner awards for my wife and kids and also bought one ticket for myself. Anyways to combine bookings? Exact same routing and cabins. No way to extend SEN seat selection privileges to them right?

Dayflight 777 PE. First or last row aisle ? Armrest screens are similar to regular ?
