It can take up to 7 business days from the day you qualified for your Lifetime Platinum status to be picked up by the system.

Starwood / Marriott merger
Q : What will happen to my Lifetime Status when the programs merge together in the future?
A : Rest assured we will always recognize your Lifetime Status, whether it is today in your earned program or in the future with a new, combined program.

Is it just me, or did anyone else have a vision if their mind's eye that the LT metal plat card would be a bit more substantial and make a nice clang sound when dropped on the counter ?

Just joined the ranks of lifetime gold after my stay on Tuesday.

I did not receive any special notification from the hotel although when I checked in I was on night 249 and that stay was night 250 - do they even make note of those earning lifetime gold or is that a platinum thing?

Congrats on making LTG.

Unfortunately there is a timing issue that comes into play here. Your status does not change until the qualifying stay gets posted to your account. The FDCs do not know what is in the pipeline to be posted to your account so your stay at a particular property may not be the "one" that takes you up a level.

To me it's a personal victory and not something I expect to get any fanfare or the such. Now if they try to deny me benefits, here come the trumpets and drums!

I've yet to have any property mention my LTP status. One property did mention LTG when I qualified at its introduction.

Yeah I just got excited because I read about someone getting a cake and I was kind of looking forward to eating a slice

Either way, I am happy to make LTG - not sure I can do another 5 years and 250 nights to hit Platinum though.

IMHO, a yet more substantial clomp would impress the lesser-status by-standers even more

That was me! And I got the cake from Westin Nusa Dua in Bali on about my 300th night. Nothing before, and nothing since. So if you'd like a cake, I suggest you head over to Indonesia.

Nice feeling to get the email, finally. I've been qualified on nights since the inception of the program but finally hit ten years platinum last week. Unfortunately, my travel patterns put me in areas without a lot of SPG coverage and I fear my first stay as a Lifetime Platinum will be at a Four Points

Sounds like you are expecting a different experience as a LTP. Not likely to happen, 4P or otherwise.

Profile Update

I've re-earned status this year by crossing the 25 night threshold this past Monday, so my profile should update from four years to five years elite giving me Lifetime Gold status. I met the 250 night requirement a little while back. Does anyone know how long it typically takes for the profile to update the number of years elite after earning status for the year? My ambassador suggested these updates occur on Saturday, but my profile didn't change yesterday.

I would give it a full seven days after the Monday stay has posted (not after the stay itself).

This has been discussed several times - last year there was a lag as those corssing the threshold didn't see it for a few months, but later in the year it was within the week, iirc. With the "create-a-card" now operational, the end-of-year processing may be done and years at elite may be incrementing again.

Let us know when you see it.

Yeah I'm 4 weeks past my gold re-qualifying date, and since this is elite year 5 for me, I'm now LTG. But I'm not sweating it, I'm sure it will show up at some point.

Is there any real benefit of LTG?
