The Elite Thank You program ended on December 31, 2017. You have until June 30, 2018, to award your Thank You certificates to SPG associates.

A great way to say thanks -

You expect and deserve outstanding service from SPG®. So when an associate goes above and beyond to make your stay, it’s nice to have a special way to express your thanks.

That’s what Elite Thank You certificates are all about. Print yours now to make the day of every deserving SPG associate who receives one.

Remember: All SPG associates and customer care agents are eligible to receive Elite Thank You certificates. Enjoy giving them — and we’ll keep looking for ways to earn them.

From T&C :"however, the certificates cannot be used as a form of bribery or fraud, nor may the certificates be sold in any manner"

The link further down in the op works for me:
https://www.spgpromos.com/elitethankyou/?language=en_uk

Is that the one you tried?

perhaps i am being a little naive, but would say someone waiting tables in a hotel restaurant or in f&b generally, at a property anywhere in the developing world, really be able to make use of them?

i say developing world, as only some countries have, say, an spg amex that may enable an employee to be able to top up said 500 thank you star points, so that it turns into useful balance.

can starwood not be a bit more generous? i imagine many employees would prefer cash.....and if so, getting one of these may seem a bit cheap?
+ They get 50 * point for new guest that enrolled SPG Program

I think you're ignoring the official "atta boy" that goes along with the card. They hand in these cards to their supervisors to get credit. It's proof positive the employee is doing a great job and is appreciated by their clients.

That being said, I wrap the card in cash when I give it. ;-) The only exception would be at the front desk. If they are very accommodating, I just thank them and give the card. It feels like an uncomfortable quid pro quo to wrap it in cash when dealing with the front desk.

I just dug mine out of my bag. Have three left (somehow I got six last year?).

I qualified for Plat in July or so last year. Ordered the certs and ignored the expiration date, but now realize that they expired 2/2015.

I tried the website and it's not letting me order any more, even though I am Plat through 2/2016. I guess I need to requal for Plat again (to last through 2/2017) in order to get a new set of certs?

If I give an expired cert to an employee, is it of any use to them? I don't want to screw them over, but if there's still value, I'd like them to have them - especially some of the folks at my regular haunts.

Otherwise I'll just email in feedback for them, but hate that these are going to waste since I only had a few months to use them.

It's expired, you can throw them away. Have to be careful of the expiry date next time.

i had the same issue. I had one left, it expired in February of 2015. Tried to get some new ones but the system would not let me. IIRC, these are from my elite status earned in 2013, that was good for all of 2014 and the first tow months of 2015.

I requalified in 2014 but did not request additional cards until last month.

Was told I had to wait until I requalified again (that is likely to happen in September of 2015) to request another set. I called the Gold Elite CS number so I am assuming the person I spoke with was familar withthe program. She did put me on hold to talk to a supervisor.

If that is correct, I will only get them every other year -- so I am having trouble with the logistics of this.

Can someone (lurkers?) please help explain this to me?

Just confirming that if these are expired, they would not be useful for their intended purpose.

Our records indicate that you requested these on September 23, 2014.

Working on the assumption that you did not receive them, you can also go to http://www.spgpromos.com/elitethankyou/ and order a new set.

The way this works is fairly simple, really. Once you earn or renew an elite threshold, a service email is sent to the email address we have on file for your SPG account directing you to go to the above web site to order the Elite Thank You cards. Once there, you can decide how you want them, but we think that printing them out makes the best sense.

Thanks. I did not know I had to order them and wondered why I haven't received any in the mail these past few years.

Thank you William! If I requested them in September 2014, I did not get them. Interesting that the CSR I spoke with could not see that.

Whatever you did, I was now able to request a set be mailed to me (what can I say, I am old fashioned) and have made a note to follow up if I don't see them in 6 weeks. I am assuming you re-set something in the system for me.

Really appreciate all that the Lurkers do for us.

No worries. RE: the CSR not knowing...there really isn't anything they can see that would note this. It requires special attention.
