Information about earning/transferring points to Southwest AirlinesŪ: Points earned during a billing cycle will be automatically transferred to Southwest Airlines after the end of each billing cycle. Points expiration: The points transferred to your Rapid Rewards account won’t expire as long as your card account is open or you have flight-earning or Southwest Airlines partner-earning activity at least once every 24 months. If your card account is closed, the points in your Rapid Rewards account will expire if there isn’t flight-earning or Southwest Airlines partner-earning activity at least once every 24 months. Losing points: You’ll immediately lose all points that haven’t been transferred to Southwest Airlines if your card account status changes, or your card account is closed for program misuse, fraudulent activities, failure to pay, bankruptcy, or other reasons described in the terms of the Rewards Program Agreement.

Sounds like current wisdom is to NOT call reconsideration line and let it work its way thru the system, right?

I was/am in a very similar position with Chase and recently applied for an Amazon Prime card and got the same message. They ended up reallocating credit from another card to open it, without consultation or notice.

You might want to call if you want input as to what card they take the line from.

I have a Chase Hyatt card and checking and savings accounts with them and still got the same message. I did have a fraud alert on my account so I called to confirm I did apply. After that call I got another call back to re-confirm and they approved on the spot.

i wouldn't alternate the year of bonus miles posting. I would defer meeting the minimum spend until 2018 so miles post in 2018. Preferably for both cards.

The benefit of signing up now in 2017 is that I can make a small purchase to get the CP, and can apply it to my existing 2017 award reservations to get the miles used deposited back into my account. I'll just wait to put other purchases on the card until Jan 18.

im just wondering if there is better success rate in applying for two cards of different "product" in the same day, or spreading out the applications by at least 90 days?
Since you have almost all of 2018 to come up with the other 50K CPQP you are on the right path'

Barring any traditional CP rule changes you would get CP after your first purchase ( how long after remains to be seen) until 12/31/2018 and then as long as you don't complete the spend in 2017 ( and a statement cuts, points, post, etc) you would have 60K plus points post in 2018 toward earning CP via 110K points for 2018/2019.

Chances are at some point in 2018 a 50K ( or even a 60K ) personal offer pops up.

Logged onto my Chase account a couple of days later and a WN card has magically appeared with a measly 2k CL. Never called them and they didn't call me. Once the card arrives, time to go buy my pack of gum (at least until the new year rolls around at which point I'll complete the min spend for a 40k head start on another year of CP)

We've put a credit freeze on with Experian, TransUnion and Equifax. I'd rather not take the freeze off *all* three before applying if I don't need to...anyone know which one I should remove the freeze on? I was planning on hubby applying online...

Just applied online. Got the "we're looking at this and it could be 30 days" page. What's the phone number for reconsideration? I'd like to boost the timeline (and who wouldn't, huh?).

CP arrival timing for CA CP after one purchase offer?

I receieved my sw card for a few days and have put about $500 on it so far. The companion pass offer is independent of the $1000 spend for 40k pts. Does anyone know when CP will hit my account?

This was really very easy to find with minimal effort from the T&Cs that you signed up for:

"To qualify for this offer, (a) Member must have a valid California address as evidenced by their application for the Rapid RewardsŪ Credit Card, (b) Member must open a Rapid RewardsŪ Credit Card by November 30, 2017 and (c) please allow up to eight weeks for Companion Pass to be fulfilled after making first purchase."
