Information about earning/transferring points to Southwest Airlines®: Points earned during a billing cycle will be automatically transferred to Southwest Airlines after the end of each billing cycle. Points expiration: The points transferred to your Rapid Rewards account won’t expire as long as your card account is open or you have flight-earning or Southwest Airlines partner-earning activity at least once every 24 months. If your card account is closed, the points in your Rapid Rewards account will expire if there isn’t flight-earning or Southwest Airlines partner-earning activity at least once every 24 months. Losing points: You’ll immediately lose all points that haven’t been transferred to Southwest Airlines if your card account status changes, or your card account is closed for program misuse, fraudulent activities, failure to pay, bankruptcy, or other reasons described in the terms of the Rewards Program Agreement.

You could have applied 3 days ago for 60k offers that had a spend by date of January 20 or so. The 60K business is still alive.

IMO grabbing two 60k cards last week and spending $4k for 2 years of CP and 124 K Southwest points was a better deal.

The extra $3k spend is well worth it for 80K WN points and CP until 12/1/2019 but I can see where for some people (4/24, can't make spends, etc) this card would be ideal.

Our WN flights average ~20k points each R/T so with 40k you will be paying for one seat rather quickly.

I also received this offer.

Just so that I understand the terms correctly... once you obtain the CP status, any future SW ticket purchases must be made on the RR Visa in order to take advantage of the companion ticket?

OK, so I guess this means ANY credit card, and not just the RR Visa.

Question on this - could my wife and I each sign up for a card and then each earn a companion pass for 2018? My goal would be to each be able to designate one of our kids as the companion.

TIA for the guidance.

I don't see why not if you both qualify otherwise.

I'm CA based, am definitely feeling the LUV recently and have sent some LUV back in the form of increased business

* Sept 2016 - email targeted for CP offer - 5 round trips by EOY. RESULT - shifted 5 business trips from UA to SW. We have definitely flown more on SW this year (2017) as a result of using CP though not enough for me to earn A List.

* Sept 2017 - email targeted for A List offer. RESULT - no additional SW flying yet. Planning to shift 3 work trips by EOY from AS to SW after I re-qualify for MVP Gold on AS.

* Oct 2017 - email targeted for CP credit card offer - RESULT - most likely will apply before end of Nov and continue to shift trips in 2018 that would normally go on UA or AS to WN.

If I get the CP from this offer, can I add the designated companion to already purchased bookings?

Got this offer as well. Currently have CP thru the CA fly five promo. Used it for two trips to MDW already with one more booked. Also used it to PUJ. Never had a WN CC in the past.

Thing is I already have ~64k CP points right now and will hit 70k before the end of the year to get AList Preferred, so 40k from the CC will get me there alone. I guess the only extra benefit to me is I don't have to hit the minimum spend before the end of the year to get CP meaning I can use the 40k towards next years qualm while still keeping CP thru all of 2018, but that's the same for everyone

Impressed with the processing speed on Chase's part. Applied Oct 10. I've got a fraud alert on my account due to the Equifax fiasco. Was expecting at least a couple of weeks to get that cleared. Well, they called yesterday (Oct 11) and verified my identity and approved me immediately. Should have the card soon. ^

I never use the WN CC for my security fee. Always Citi Prestige because it's reimbursed.

Assuming you are under the limit for new cards there are 2 additional SW cards that you can get that will give you CP until 12/31/2019 and 100K more points to pay for trips.

Ultimate rewards points also transfer to SW so the 100K INk card could be worth 200K Southwest points when combined with CP

I don't think SW will be flying to Hawaii in 2018.
