The Chase points have always been CPQP (leading to my decade of free companion passes), and this "amazing" new offer where they are just giving away CPs, the CP is free and the points may no longer be CPQP. This may be their way of weaning us off CPs from points.

I understand people being apprehensive about the future of the CP but you have to keep in mind Southwest makes money selling these points and I don't think the average CP costs them very much in comparison. I could get a CP most years if I prioritized it but I would probably only use is 5-6 times and that isn't worth that much to me. Its potential value has gone up with Southwest's International travel, but still it's borderline.
I'm not sure how the financials work out but unredeemed points represent a liability on the balance sheet so having some routes that soak up points at a relatively low marginal cost could be attractive financially.

The address on the application should match your address on file with Chase (assuming you have other Chase cards), and it should match your address with the credit bureaus. And the address should match your address associated with your rapid rewards.

Definitely match your RR address with the application, I think there's a provision in the T&C that it could not be changed within the last 14 days IIRC? Confirm & plan ahead.
Chase unlikely to care about the address assuming your credit it decent and they want to you have the card, I have 3 addresses I use for Chase cards and Chase banks for several years with no problem.

I'm at 3/24 and live in CA. I'm certainly interested, but want to ensure I maximize it to extend through 2019. I've got award trips planned over the holidays which I could claw back the miles after swapping the award ticket for the CP ticket, so signing up for at least 1 card this year makes immediate sense.
However, to maximize it, am I better off signing up for 2 cards in the same day (60k business CA companion pass offer and a standard 40k personal [as it is a diff product]), or am I better off signing up just for the business at 60k with CP, and then waiting until sometime in 2018 to sign up for a standard 50k personal? Doing two in one day often results in only one hard credit pull, but does it improve my chances of being approved for both? Do I have better chance waiting 6 months and hoping I get approved for a different Southwest card mid-late 2018?
Meeting the minimum spend isn't an issue. I just fear signing up for 1 now, and then not being able to get a second one later in 2018 (maybe stricter rules during application for those who have already have the promo CP card...???)
First and foremost is to get approved for the 60k card with CP.
Thoughts?

5 hard pulls in 24 months won't harm your credit. The people who need to worry about hard pulls and the people below the 5/24 limit are disjoint sets.

If you split the years with the cards, the 60k given in 2017 won't count towards the 2018 CP renewal (if you didn't already know that already). So you'll need to get to 110k from the 40 or 50k the hard way and/or via spend.
If you are confident about getting both, you might want to forgo the CA deal and do both in early 2018 which will earn the pass through 12-31-19 assuming no changes. The CA deal only gets you to 12-31-18. The same date without the CA deal if you do the 2 credit cards this year.

I know hard pulls have nothing to do with 5/24, but a hard pull is still a small hit to overall score, even if short term. It could impact an application 4-6 months later.
i wouldn't alternate the year of bonus miles posting. I would defer meeting the minimum spend until 2018 so miles post in 2018. Preferably for both cards.
The benefit of signing up now in 2017 is that I can make a small purchase to get the CP, and can apply it to my existing 2017 award reservations to get the miles used deposited back into my account. I'll just wait to put other purchases on the card until Jan 18.
im just wondering if there is better success rate in applying for two cards of different "product" in the same day, or spreading out the applications by at least 90 days?

Submitted my app. Got "We need to review your request a little longer. We will let you know of our decision by U.S. mail. This could take up to 30 days." I've got 4 cards with Chase and a large credit line. Used to have a Mortgage and HELOC with them until 2 years ago. Sounds like current wisdom is to NOT call reconsideration line and let it work its way thru the system, right?
