I have a question KLM does not even has a consistent answer for, probably because GA is relatively new to ST.
AMS-HKG on KL in J
HKG-DPS on GA in J (same day)
All ticketed by KLM
Does my KL arrival in J grant me access to the Qantas Lounge, can I use any ST lounge or am I restricted to whatever lounge GA uses ?
I am a lowly ivory and haven't done AF/KL long haul in a while...

Strictly speaking, you will not able able to use the Qantas lounge unless you are departing on KLM. You might be able to try, depending on the agent - worst that can happen is that they say no, after all. They seemed to be enforcing it pretty well last time I was there though.
You should be able to use any SkyTeam lounge — though the options at HKG are pretty limited.

Options are limited to the Korean air lounge which is open about 10hrs per day and the CI lounge open from 6am-11pm.
Its probable that GA has a contracted lounge they use so you could probably could use that.
The skyteam lounge will make things more simple once it opens and it should be really big to accommodate all skyteam flights. However that will mean 3rd party lounge invites will stop too.

Thanks guys. I know all the OW options (shame we lost the lounge access no matter which airline we flew...) but not so familiar with ST...
GA offers the Plaza Premium Lounge. Between that, the KE and the CI lounge, which is the best ? I arrive at 10:30 AM and leave around 15:45.
5 Hrs at the Wing or the Pier is a breeze but which of the above offers reasonable F&B and proper showers ?
Thanks again !
EDIT: According to their website, the Qantas lounge at HKG is for ST travelers.... http://www.skyteam.com/en/Why-SkyTea...ional-Airport/

The korean lounge is pretty poor and the CI is maybe only slightly better but with no internal toilets and no lounge. Food options are limited.

Update
Just wondering now that Skyteam opened up an alliance lounge in HKG, whats the best Skyteam lounge? Is that the only one now? Im flying Korean Air First class out of HKG and wondering which one of the lounges is the best in HKG? Im also a Amex Platinum so will be checking out the centurion lounge as well as plaza premium.
But how many skyteam lounges are in HKG, and which are the best? The ones Ive been able to find are an AF one, a KE one, and a China Air one, but Im unsure if those have been closed since they opened a Skyteam lounge?
In any case which Skyteam lounge(s) is a must visit while waiting in HKG?

This being said, it is possible that KE has special arrangements with another lounge for P pax. For instance, when flying AF P, you have the choice between the Skyteam or the QF lounge. They will tell you this at check-in.

Your information are very outdated. AF lounge in HKG has closed 3 or 4 years ago and the other Skyteam airline lounges have closed when the global SkyTeam Lounge has opened. You can read a review with pictures I made in the AF forum/lounge thread here :

yes I read it. But you were not clear if every single sky team airline lounge closed at Hong Kong. Obviously that isnt the case because I know Korean air has their own lounge. So Im wondering what other airlines did not close their lounge?

There is no more KE lounge listed neither on HKG site nor on KE site. So obviously, it was closed too, which seems logical as there is a SkyTeam Lounge. And you won’t miss anything : I have always found KE lounges disappointing.

The one time I visited the KE lounge it was very old and hmm similar quality to mainland Chinese carriers. China airlines was quite good for emerald and paragon members with their own special little first class room (16 seats I think?) and you could order a number of decent dishes from a menu. Business class was well slightly better than KE but only just and the food options sucked. Air France lounge was actually quite decent and definitely my favorite if I wanted to see the planes plus it had a shower where the other 2 lounges didn't have.
I do miss those days, however I do also like the Skyteam lounge which is an overall improvement for all business class passengers. Just it is a shame there is little view outside. Plus the lounge often gets quite busy so I could definitely see it getting too busy in the next couple of years as the general trend is for increasing numbers of flights to and from HKG. So they definitely could have tried in getting a slightly bigger size to accommodate future growth.

Yes if you sit around the side from the food area and towards the back of the lounge the wifi gets a little weak. Funny enough even in the lounge I could even access the airports complimentary wifi if I wanted to. I presume the size of the lounge was due to the lack of space available at HKG as I think it will get ugly very quickly being at overcapacity soon. London Heathrow lounge must be nearly x2 the size of the HK lounge.
I definitely cannot complain about the food. Not amazing but I would rate quite good.
