What are the possibilities for the following classes at Iceland?
EDMN (Corsa manual) EDAN (Corsa auto) CLMR (Golf) Also will I have trouble returning the car at 6am at KEF? TIA |
Hi, thank you for your message.
It is not our policy to guarantee the make or model of a vehicle. Depending on the group you decide to book we can place a note on the booking advising the branch of your preference of vehicle. KEF airport opens at 6am but also have an out of hours return service so you will have no issue returning your vehicle early in the morning. I hope this helps. Many thanks, Louise.

I just want to know, for those car groups, what are the other models available apart from the example model.

If I want to get an Audi A6 at Munich Airport how do I make my reservation? The website does not list Audi as an available car yet the garage is full of them
|
4 cylinder diesel: pdmr, pwmr
6 cylinder diesel: ldar, Lwar Only valid for Audi a6 in Germany. Don't forget to enter the request that you would like an Audi. But as you said, they have loads and it shouldn't be a problem to get one. |

Hi gallows,
Sorry about the delay. The team in Norway have confirmed that the Tromso office will not hold a deposit against your card. They will charge the cost of the rental when you collect the vehicle, unless you have prepaid it already. If you have paid the rental costs to a third party such as AutoEurope, then the branch will take your credit card number as a security method. I hope this helps. Thanks, Jess.

Hi Jess.. thanks for taking this up.
We're renting at the Tromso Airport, Sixt... and it's a compact car for a week, ofcourse I dont need the exact figure as I'll always keep some tolerance... I pre-assumed that there's no way I can be the Driver and the credit card used can be on my wife's name because if that could be possible then I'm sure we will be OK as it's unlikely that both cards will reach limit! ... And finally, if it helps with the info, I will prepay using Autoeurope.eu or Norweigian.com or similar websites. |
My experience with MIA 15 Sept 2014
I left Sixt MIA a few hours ago. I had reserved a PCAR (MB CLA, Audi A3...) but had hopes of a modest upgrade. I was given the choice of a BMW X3 or an MB E350 convertible. I chose the E350 for obscure reasons, but was quite happy to have had such choices offered. MIA usually has nice options and usually are very professional. I thought this post was a good idea because my last comment about Sixt MIA was less positive. This experience is well aligned with their normal Platinum treatment. Nobody does better than Sixt!

Hi mvaneersel,
The upgrades are subject to availability, but I can confirm that the next category vehicle up from the CLMR would be an IDMR. From Nice, this will be either a Peugeot 3008, a Nissan Qashqai or a Skoda Octavia. I hope this helps solve your query. Thanks, Jess.

Isn't it a double upgrade for Platinum (I'm US based). If so what would that mean?
Pick-up and return in terminal 1, correct or would I have better chance with upgrades in Terminal 2?

Hi,
How long do you keep upgrade privileges after qualifying for the 10x rental for US residents? For example: Let's say I had 9 rentals in OCT 2013 and 1 rental in AUG 2014. Does this mean I get upgrade privileges until AUG 2015 or merely until OCT 2014? Thanks. |
Engineer Fee
I rented a car in Germany this summer. During the rental I had a minor incident where I hit a small steel pole while parking. It resulted in little dent to a plastic cover underneath the front bumper. There were no other damages.
Upon my return I filled Visa Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver claim and submitted all required documents. I was surprised when Sixt bill came out at almost 900 EUR. There were over 800 EUR in damage, 50 EUR administrative fee and 25 EUR engineer fee. Visa offered to pay in full except engineer fee that they said are not covered under card benefits. Sixt refused to accept a settlement unless 25 EUR engineer fee is paid. Does anyone know if engineer fee is customary fee in Germany or they just charge it because they can? It’s not a high price to pay to settle but I am just wondering what they are charging engineer fee for since I haven’t seen this from US rental companies. |
Hi Customer Service, I have rented a car in Barcelona and I put some comments in the rental confirmation but I don't know if they received them and I also sent an email to regular customer service but never heard back.
I am getting a BMW 3 series, I said I would prefer a 3 series but if it much change I would prefer a rear wheel drive car, I also asked for a petrol car, I also asked that I was looking for a fun driving car and was not interested in fuel economy so if a 328i or better yet a 335i were available I would like that. Will they take those comment into account when they assign me a car? Thanks, |
