I was on the EWR-SIN inaugural with all of you guy's last year & this trip is going to cost me a small fortune coming from the east cost of the USA + I'm bringing my nephew this time.

Please add 2 to the list.

I guess we'll just do SQ21 then take the 380 to LHR & a Virgin flight back home to NJ.

If I CAN make this historic flight & hook-up with you CGK in SIN, I'll bring you some more pizza crust.

Welcome back Steve! I am glad to hear you are planning to be in A380 inaugural flight. And I am also glad you still remember my thin pizza crust.
Save all your miles. Use those miles to reach the lower fares region, such as Thailand, and buy the BKK/SIN/LHR/SIN/BKK. May be it would be cheaper in total, since you have 2 person travelling.

Hello stevetas. Great to hear that you are joining the A380 inaugural.

CGK: I doubt it. OT: CX's plastic knife is of a much better quality than SQ's.

Hey.. just a thought. Since flight number 380 is still open on SQ system, any chance they might rename whatever LHR flight the A380 will operate into SQ380?
All LHR & Europe flights already starts with '3'.

Hi CGK, thank you for all the news. I have been following your thread closely. I would love to be on Inaugural too. Probably not the historic flight but the one right after.
What I need is two award seats in C for me and my friend. I have got more than enough miles in my account for the 2 tickets, I could even do 2 in F but I so much doubt that there will be any available.
Two seats in F would of course be wonderful.
The most ideal would be the inaugural return flight from LHR to SIN and then back to LHR on another flight, maybe two days later.
All my FF miles are with United.

CDG1: Of course based on your location in Paris, LHR-SIN will be your preference for inaugural flight. I am not saying it is not possible, but from my experience from the A345 inaugural flights, the award seats were not available in C (Hey guys: correct me if I am wrong). I did ask an I-class booking for SQ19/20/21/22 on their inaugural, they were not available. But since A380 will have F, perhaps the award C would be possible?
Don't be discouraged though. Who knows UA award availability on SQ?

I have not taken CX recently. So, I don't remeber about the plastic knife.

Like SQ380 SIN-LHR and SQ381 for LHR-SIN? I like the idea though.

Hey guys!

Count me and 2 other who went on the 2 inaugurals in for this one as well. It should be a riot after our last 2 flights! Not so sure about the turnaround thing though...

On the not so good news, I recently heard that Airbus is having some serious weight issues for the A380, so there might be a possibility of a delay of SQ's inaugural. Will keep you guys posted.

Meanwhile, let me go and poke around SQ here in SIN and see what I can dig up.

Fingers crossed.

Gaz

P.S. Anyone going for the May 1 inaugural BKK-JFK nonstop?

I thought SQ was the first to fly the A380 ???

When will EK get their first one of 48 ?

SQ are the first, I can't see where anyone has said anything different ?.

If SQ's first flight is delayed then all the others will obviously be as well as it will be an Airbus delay not SQ.

EK are due to get theirs 6-9 months later as they have chose GP7200 engines instead of the Rolls Royce Trent 900's which are available earlier.

Anyone going for the May 1 inaugural BKK-JFK nonstop? posted above #54, but it is not on an A380 as I wrongly assumed because it was in this thread...

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showp...1&postcount=25 <-my most sophisticated post on FT. Just read the bold conclusion and the bold general note at the end if pressed for time.

I have just registered my interest with SIA London via SIA Manchester's City Office today.

I was asked whether I was interested in flying J or Y, not F funnily enough.

There is also apparently A380 literature and those on the 'list' will receive details of bookings and how they're going to do it.

There's no guarantee that you'll be offerred the flight. Less so if you're KrisFlyer Blue like some..

I was not allowed to take the Singapore Girl cardboard cutout. For shame
