I bought a Premium Economy (L) ticket, and am interested in upgrading to J. I checked and see that J, C, and Z all have 9+ seats available, and U and D have 4 each... but when I put my confirmation code in, it tells me that "There are no seats available for upgrade at the moment.". I never received an invitation (my ticket was purchased as part of a group for my company, and only recently did I get my itinerary split), but it seems odd to me that there's no seats open when there's 50%+ J empty on JFK - FRA. Is my itinerary not eligible for some reason (group booking?), or is it likely that they're just being really stingy with upgrade space?

Hi there - am a CX flyer but have been stationed in Singapore for the last few weeks. Company booked me on an SQ ticket as CX was full over CNY.
I received an email for an upgrade for a flight this Sunday (1pm). The upgrade bid closes 40 hours before the flight. I may have to extend my stay in Singapore past this Sunday, but will only know on Saturday afternoon. If I go ahead with the upgrade bid, am successful, but have to later change my flight, will SQ refund me my upgraded sector? Or is this forfeited? The FAQ isn't exactly clear so I wanted to see if other flyers had any experience with this.

Upcoming JFK-SIN currently ticketed in PE and trying to upgrade to J. What is more likely to clear- minimum cash bid (~$1800) or waitlisting for advantage upgrade with SQ miles (which is also very expensive miles wise)? It is starting to dawn on me how long of a flight this is..

Does anyone know what happens to your fare class if a cash bid is accepted?
International flights are basically empty right now so I'll be able to get a row to myself in economy but if I get a minimum bid for premium economy accepted, that looks like a cheap way to get additional miles if the fare class is adjusted to reflect premium economy. I assume that using SQ miles for the upgrade will not result in a fare class change?
