Friend flying this week SQ 12 SIN-NRT-LAX, booked in Economy. Upgrade options were:
  1. $900 SGD to Premium Economy
  2. $2500 SGD to Business
He checked back after a couple of hours after initially checking, and the business option was gone.

Received an invite for BKK-SIN Y to J for THB 9,844 (approx SGD400). Booking was a one-way Economy Lite (V) that I paid THB 3,345 (~SGD135) for. Needless to say I didn't bite, considering I could have booked a one-way J outright for ~THB 13.5k when I made my booking.

Can you confirm if this is a cash or award booking?

A wise decision. Quite a ridiculous upgrade price for 30-35mins in the air and a cold sandwich if you are lucky.

Not worth it. Maybe if one had never tried the 737 Max new J, I haven't but i have one of those in a couple of days KUL-SIN so there was no hurry or compulsion to spend that kind money.

For a 737 Max they'd have to give me money to get onto it - I think - anyways .

2500 for one way... is it just me or could we have just bought our business tickets for that price. I'm imagining at least $1000 for the the ecnomy.. $5000 for round trip... lol

Got a lower quote for the return TPE-SIN: $400. Again, this is a redemption booking. Not going to bite as the TPE flights these days are close to empty. I had a choice of multiple free rows on the outbound to TPE and the return is looking the same.
