Hello,

Received an upgrade notification from Deluxe to Executive Floor Room.

Are the Executive Floor Level Rooms all with City View? We want Bridge View, the Premium Rooms with Bridge View also seem to be renovated as opposed to Executive, so I'm considering to write them to "downgrade" us to regular Premium w/ Bridge View room.

A bit weird because they contacted me 2 days ago about my diamond room preferences and I specifically said Bridge View if possible (and it still is available I can see).

Can anyone offer any insight into which hotel is better…the Hilton Morumbi or the Qoya Hotel? I will be in So Paulo next week and have reservations at both. The Hilton is slightly less expensive at about $225 versus the Qoya at $250. Has anyone stayed at either recently? As a diamond member will one be considerably better? Am I right that the Qoya has an outdoor pool, Hilton indoor? Qoya seems more central. Hilton has a lounge? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated from people that stayed at either (or both)!

This year I have stayed twice at the Qoya. In both occasions it was for one night.

First time I booked the rate was marginally cheaper than the Hilton and I wanted to try it. In my 2nd stay it was also cheaper and I was meeting friends that live nearby.

Few comments:
- very much boutique hotel feeling
- the basic entry king rooms are nice/well design but not big
- not generous with upgrades for HH elites but I was travelling alone and it was for only one night so did not even bother to ask at check in
- swimming pool on the roof is OK but, IMHO, not a place to spend many hours. Also it can be quite windy
- small gym
- breakfast is superb. Buffet is not large but products are of good quality, and a menu of hot items to choose from(included for HHD).

My last stay at the Hilton Morumbi was back in 2022, two nights stay
- booked basic entry room with points and was upgraded to a renovated junior suite overlooking the bridge
- nice lounge with a very large selection, both for breakfast(including eggs cooked to order) and happy hour
- did not visit the swimming pool
- gym was good but crowded when I was there

I have never stayed at Qoya, but would add a couple of points:

Unless your stay is over the weekend, pick your hotel according to the location most convenient where you want to be in, least you sit in an Uber for 1h to get where you want to go. The Hilton is closer to the business area of town, Qoya is closer to Jardins which has restaurants, at galleries and a big park (Ibirapuera). Central in SP means nothing as the old downtown is somewhat derelict and unsafe.

The indoor pool at the Hilton is actually nice, with high gloss ceilings and a great view, being on the rooftop. But most rooms are tired.

Taken together very helpful. I’m there between Christmas and NYE so assume that while it is a week day, probably less traffic.

I’d definitely like the Qoya’s area better…but would probably appreciate lounge, pool and gym more at Hilton. It looks like Sao PAulo has Tembici bike and a station near the Hilton, which makes the location more doable and it would help with avoiding the traffic.

Thanks again for the advice on here. I decided to stay at the Hilton and figured I’d post a quick review of my experience…

Location — I was there during Christmas week and there was NO traffic. The ride to the hotel from GRU was about 45-minutes using local roads in an Uber and the return on the highway was about 40-minutes on NYE. Both rides cost about 15USD. The rest of the time I used Bici bikes which was excellent and the docks were right outside the hotel. It was a 30-45 minute ride to the places I wanted to go but I was happy to see the city. There are also several great gelato places nearby

Room — I booked the entry level room and was upgraded to a 1-bedroom suite with 1.5 bathrooms, a kitchenette (with microwave), dining area and office area with a great bridge view on the 24th floor…so a great upgrade. The rooms aren’t newly remodeled but they are perfectly fine

Pool/Gym — Huge area. Gym is 24 hours and pool opens early and closes late. I wish the pool were outside, but it is nice…and very very warm! The gym has tons of equipment.

Lounge — I think normally they have breakfast there but I gather occupancy was low so it only seemed to be open after breakfast. For the rest of the day they had non-alcoholic drinks, fruits and a few chips…so it is something, but not much! At dinner they had a nice alcohol spread and decent food and dessert options.

Late checkout and early check in — I arrived at 10:45AM and was allowed to check-in. I asked about late checkout as I had a flight at 23:00. I was initially told based on availability that morning they give it free until 16:00 or 1/2 rate until 18:00. When I said I was a diamond they said it was free until 18:00. When I checked on departure and asked if I could stay until 18:30 they said that was fine. They also made up my room on the day I was checking out

Breakfast — Excellent. Great variety. Great quality. Great servers.
