UA724 HNL-SFO (Dinner)

What my partner got (allegedly chicken teriyaki):

The chicken/rice looks like an economy meal to me, and a poor one at that.

Tried the orecchiette with on UA1899, SFO-ORD, and I thought it was good overall. The flavor was definitely pesto-y, but I would have added a bit more oil to make it less dry.

Welp, it was not advertised as chicken parm. And yes, it is white meat, not the franken-chicken form they used to serve on transcon flights.

I was wondering what that gelatinous thing was in the middle of the dish. It looks dreadful! And is 3 cucumbers and 2 cherry tomatoes per salad the new standard?

Yes it appears so as that is exactly what I was given -- but did not receive as many of the weeds as this one...

I had the Tortellini en brodo on a flight last week out of ORD, I thought it was decent (in United terms..) and I liked the addition of chickpeas for some added fiber.

UA4777 IAH-GRR Aug 8 12:15pm departure

Choices on this UAX flight was either that sad pre-packaged cheese tray or a chicken wrap...I went with the wrap which was served with the orzo salad which has made a comeback, grapes and the pie in the sky cookie. UA must have got a great deal on sun dried tomatoes as there was a bunch not only in the wrap but also in the orzo salad. Honestly this meal wasn't too bad for a lunch flight but wouldn't like it on a dinner flight.

I’m a vegetarian flying BWI-LAX on Sunday. I don’t normally fly F, just felt like indulging. Would the Belgian waffle or Brioche French toast happen to have undeclared sausage or something on the side? They both sound great but I wanted to be sure.

I’m just going to operate under the assumption the yogurt granola bowl doesn’t have bacon bits in it.

Can't speak to the waffle/french toast, but here's a pic of the granola bowl from a recent BWI-LAX flight...I was pleasantly surprised at how strong/delightful the lavender aroma was.

We have a trip starting on the 17th:

Aug 17th MCO - SFO
Aug 18th SFO - PPT
Sep 1st PPT - SFO / SFO - IAH / IAH - MCO

Now the bizarre part - today I can preorder meals for the MCO - SFO and SFO - PPT flights, but the site says that the preorder window for the flights on Sep. 1st has closed. How can the flights that are two weeks after the departure be closed for preordering?

It means the preorder isn't open . It will open 5days ahead of the flight.

D'oh! I assumed that "closed" meant it was closed. Mea culpa.

Thanks!
