To kick off the wiki on the new main lounge thread I added a brief overview of the MH lounges at KLIA.
I invite others to add relevant info on location, access requirements and opening hours.
Globalist
All the Malaysia Airlines lounges at KL International Airport (KLIA) have now been reopened after renovations.
Malaysia Airlines has 3 lounges at KLIA.
The KLIA Domestic Golden Lounge.
Located in the domestic terminal for domestic departures, towards the 'A' gates. Open 5am-12am.
The KLIA Regional Golden Lounge
This lounge is located in the main terminal building for international departures. Open 5am-12am.
To access it use the escalator near the Aerotrain platform between the G and H pier.
This lounge is airside and accessible for international departures only,
The International Golden Lounge at Satellite KLIA
This is the largest lounge, and is located in the Satellite Building on the 2nd floor above the Aerotrain platform there. Open 24hrs.
It features a Business class section and a separate 'Platinum' area + dining room for Enrich Platinum, OWEs & MH Business Suites passengers. (There is also a small First Class Suite area on the Platinum side for MH Business Suites passengers.)
This lounge is airside and only accessible by passengers allowed into the international zone.
Arrivals access has now changed, as noted earlier this post and now explicitly in MHs FAQs, to now only be available to *Business Suites* (i.e. F) or Enrich Platinums + 1 guest: https://www.askmh.malaysiaairlines.c...al-destination
This lounge may also be used as an arrivals lounge by passengers arriving on MH flights who either flew MH Business Suites / Business or hold Enrich Platinum / Gold status (not applicableto OWE / OWS).
I invite others to add relevant info on location, access requirements and opening hours.

Breakfast is definitely the weak point, nasi lemak is probably the safest option. Western fare is 3 star hotel buffet quality.
You can scroller up a little bit to find the menu: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/35846419-post382.html

Recent breakfast and dinner menus.
Congee and beef rendang were sufficient, but I went to the J side, there seemed to be more options for self-selection in the buffet, e.g. roti canal and curry for the breakfast.
Chocolate dessert was good, as usual.
(Apologies, I did not realise they would be so out of focus at the top.)

If you can put up with the bus, it may be worth the hassle but only you can answer that.

How long would you set aside for the bus? Never been through KUL before.

It is def worth it. The lounge for me is one of the nicest and the seated dining very special.
The busses start from gate G1. And it's all very quickly. If you have more than an hour I would always do it.

If not in Business/First then 20-25 minutes each way. IIRC, you arrive 1 third the way down one arm of the satellite's cross, head to the hub, go up on level and along to the lounge. Going back from the lounge you need to return to the hub go down a level and proceed the the verry end of the West arm for the bus.
If in business, they use an area between the currently train free platforms near the center of the hub.

My view on the lounge, as posted in another thread:
Of course, if the intention is to specifically see the Satellite building Golden Lounge, rather than just enjoy any lounge, even 2hrs might be worth it for you; as serfty said, just budget that extra 30 mins minimum (at a fast walk) for the round trip on the bus, before considering the time before the flight you need to be at the gate by.
A full plated 3-course dining service I feel needs more than 40mins, though you can always scarf the food down if that’s what you really want… but not sure how enjoyable that would be.
…
Only if I wanted a shower and the Regional Lounge is full, or if I had >3hr of actual lounge time, would I think of going to the Satellite lounge (even if in the Platinum area), but would have to account for the >30mins extra needed to get to the lounge and then back to the Main Building.
The Regional Lounge is more than fine for <2hrs.

With it being the hub for MH, I suppose I can check-in as early as I want, or just use the city check-in

Update on Aerotrain (Main to Satelite Train Service)
Sounds like a fun, never-ending project-
"PETALING JAYA: The delayed replacement of the Aerotrain system at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is back on track, although it comes at an increased cost of RM456.1mil.
French rolling stock manufacturer Alstom has been appointed as the new original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for the project, according to Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd
(MAHB).
Meanwhile, Pestech Technology Sdn Bhd, a unit of Main Market-listed Pestech International Bhd
, was reappointed as the contractor, despite its earlier contract terminated last August."

I'm seeing multiple reports on other groups that arrival access to the international Golden Lounges at KLIA has been stopped. I've not had any official communication but then again Enrich communications to Platinums is sketchy at best.
The website says its still allowed:

Fun Memory from Lunch (when it was the First Lounge)
I used to go to the lounge frequently a few years past.
They often had a ribeye steak as an option, made to order. I always asked for it be "cooked" rare. This caused some confusion amongst the staff, and they sent the manager out to speak to me. They insisted on making a copy of my passport, but always got my steak as I wanted.
At first I was wondering about the requirement of having a photo copy of my passport, as no other meal seemed to required it. My wife and I discussed it, and although there was no confirmation, we concluded that they wanted to notate the "rare" steak order so in case there was some sort of ensuing medical complication for eating "under cooked" meat, they would have the info to pass along to any inquiring officials, whoever they might be.
