this is beyond ridiculous but sure:
Never met either of them, never spoken to them, never emailed them.
The insinuation that one could only disagree with complaints raised here if they have some secret relationship is insane.
Now, tell me more about you. Can you explicitly tell me your relationship to everyone else in this thread?

Ladies & Gentlemen, dear Kids,
quick reminder of the rules: https://www.flyertalk.com/help/rules#gettingpersonal
In particular:
We understand that one tends to run out or arguments at one point, but lets stay on top of the debate pyramid and not sink low(er). The peanut gallery throws peanuts at the stage, not at each other

If you have a difference of opinion with another member, challenge the idea NOT the person. Getting personal with another member is not allowed. Personal attacks, insults, baiting and flaming will not be tolerated.

I too think TPGs comments section going off was where what little use I had for TPG took a dive.
OMAAT and the other Boarding Area blogs with open comments sections do hold greater interest for me if only because the comments give me a broader perspective than just that coming from the blog authors.

I used to, but once he required users to registered I stopped, and I definitely read OMAAT less frequently now that I don't/can't comment.

I'm (obviously) not GUWonder, but I see folks posting to OMAAT as guests every day. I'm assuming that couldn't require anything other than a throw-away email, if even that. Not completely sure as I have an account there.

OMAAT censors more than ever before, under the guise of whatever this new commenting system is.

I actually found your response to be funny.

Nobody insinuated that. The insinuation was specific to one individual.

So Ben says in regards to those who'd prefer babies not be in first class "if you want to control your environment, flying private is for you."
Then follows up immediately with three seperate articles that go on to imply he'd like to have his environment controlled so that there's no coughing, complaining passengers, or passengers listening to music/programming without headphones.
Not to mention the tone-deaf "And unlike so many others, I have no plans to travel if I need to cough every five seconds."

The new post about an obnoxious complainer on the flight is hilarious. Obviously, the punchline to "Obnoxious Complainer In Singapore Airlines Business Class" is the response "Ben!"
If you want to see some humor you can see Ben responding in the comments (more than usual, I'd presume) to all the people who don't agree with him (and, gasp, may even criticize him).
I wonder where he thinks the appropriate venue is to complain about him.

Responding to a critique by pointing out that others do it too... indeed that's not necessarily defending the blog, but it does seem to diffuse/deflect the issue itself. I wouldn't say that's the best example to use to defend your position.
Its the excessiveness of it that substantiates my allegation. Albeit its not like I actually believed my allegation to begin with.
Nobody insinuated that. The insinuation was specific to one individual.

Unfortunately, this is actually a common insinuation across Flyertalk (and has been levied at others in this very thread!!)
If you're acknowledging you just made baseless allegations against a fellow FT member just to troll, it seems that perhaps the problem is you, not my comments.

Ben doesn't really make arguments—this is the problem. His editorial through line is always "if I personally like something at this moment in time, it's good; if I don't, it's bad." He sometimes attempts to give credence to other viewpoints, but I don't think he is rhetorically gifted enough to do this in most cases.

As kokonutz once said: OMAATs core strength is the review of aircraft cabins and hotels. He follows a template there and that template has evolved into a solid product over the years. The other creative parts of the blog, ie posts about news and events are rather patchy. VFTW doesn't do trip reports anymore and has resigned to commenting on events that occur.
