Because of the comments in these 2 posts:
Capella Taipei: What A Hotel… I’m Now Obsessed With The Capella Brand

Why Hotel Rooms Are Often Described As “Keys” (No, It’s Not Douchey, I Swear)

It lead to The Hotel Industry Has Evolved, And So Have My Hotel Choices… Let Me Explain

Reading through these 3 posts with their comments, it seems that,

Contra
OMAAT should stick to its focus reviewing aspirational points hotels made affordable with points by creditcards/purchase

Pro
OMAAT's luxury focus caters now to the best to FATTYs & CHUBBYs
Thus OMAAT is the best trusted USA alternative and equal to UK DorsiaTravel.

As Ben has stated correctly, it's a matter of evolution.
Ford's TA business is dependent on the blog
The blog is not dependent on the TA business due to creditcard sign ups
However with the focus on non-points nonaligned (FS/Rosewood/Airelles etc) luxury hotels,
the blog is starting to become dependent on their TA business.
Their joint co-owner point.me award search booking engine being an AMEX partner, is their safe back up if the future shows either their TA business or the blog declines.

Rather more important,
Sidenote, you might think what is this modern rendition of the plussize person?
Actually it has nothing to do with it because FATTY & CHUBBY explained below:
-----
What are FATTYs?
https://www.reddit.com/r/FATTravel/
https://www.reddit.com/r/FatTrips/
based of FAT
https://www.reddit.com/r/fatFIRE/

And what are CHUBBYs?
https://www.reddit.com/r/chubbytravel/
based on CHUB

Seems to be the future of travel?

Well thanks to GLP1 drugs the affluent will no longer be obese either

With the demise of search engines traffic the blogsphere is trying to pivot to a different model. Luxury leisure travel is not really mass market ... content that caters to aspirational travel with loyalty credit card points probably earns more right now.

IME, successful influencers operate in niches they know, love, and live. Turning their lifestyle of free luxury leisure travel into an influencer play seems only natural. Just gotta keep that 'free' part on the DL as much as possible.

Ben's complete non-coverage of the UA media event today is ... a choice. I mean, he obviously didn't get invited, but to not have a single word about the CRJ450, Relax Row, or A321XLR debuts is quite surprising.
