Unlike VFTW, OMAAT is less polemical and seems less charged in driving forward a political narrative and engaging personally in a discussion to stake out his own point of view on such matters. If it's a problem on OMAAT, I don't see it as being so. Both OMAAT and VFTW have their uses for me.

To be conflicted and inconsistent is part and parcel of the human condition. And selfishness is part of human nature. In some regard, consistency and a lack of internal conflict may perhaps even be a more problematic state of being than being internally conflicted and inconsistent over time.
