Ben doesn't really make arguments—this is the problem. His editorial through line is always "if I personally like something at this moment in time, it's good; if I don't, it's bad." He sometimes attempts to give credence to other viewpoints, but I don't think he is rhetorically gifted enough to do this in most cases.
Unlike VFTW, OMAAT is less polemical and seems less charged in driving forward a political narrative and engaging personally in a discussion to stake out his own point of view on such matters. If it's a problem on OMAAT, I don't see it as being so. Both OMAAT and VFTW have their uses for me.

Then follows up immediately with three seperate articles that go on to imply he'd like to have his environment controlled so that there's no coughing, complaining passengers, or passengers listening to music/programming without headphones.
Not to mention the tone-deaf "And unlike so many others, I have no plans to travel if I need to cough every five seconds."
To be conflicted and inconsistent is part and parcel of the human condition. And selfishness is part of human nature. In some regard, consistency and a lack of internal conflict may perhaps even be a more problematic state of being than being internally conflicted and inconsistent over time.
