This was one of my first Kimpton stays. It doesn't have quite the same Kimpton character or style as the other NY properties. Even then, more losses is a bad thing.

I'm on the West Coast and am totally bummed that there are only 2 properties in SF now.

70 Park always seemed to be the most reasonably priced of the four NYC properties. I've stayed there on occasion when the Eventi's rates were totally unreasonable, but it's a bit of a hike to my office from there. Sad to lose another option (10 stays on the "passport" will be tough to come by this year for me).

The Journeyman has opened in Milwaukee. It may now be the most expensive property in the city for a standard room for a typical weeknight.

Kimpton announced their 2nd European location last week via twitter - https://twitter.com/Kimpton/status/758321981754318848 - Paris in 2020.

Based on this article, its 149 rooms and located near Vendome/Opera. Looking at a map, its ironically one block over from the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand. http://www.boutiquedesign.com/conten...on-heads-paris

Also according to the article, it sounds like the European properties are going to be flagged as "Kimpton" so it looks like IHG's plan is for Kimpton to become a brand?

Linked from the Boutiqueddesign article I hadn't seen it before but the Amsterdam property is actually just going to be IHG reflagging a Crown Plaza into a Kimpton. Hmm so it looks like this is how IHG is going to "integrate" Kimpton?

I've certainly noticed that, at least on the Kimpton website, a number of properties have now inserted "Kimpton" into the name, though there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it... many (but not all) Palomars and Monacos are now referred to as "Kimpton Hotel Palomar" or "Kimpton Hotel Monaco".

The new Paris location is a beautiful building but in a very very busy street. Sure hope they triple glaze the windows.

I really like that Crowne Plaza, stayed there a few years ago and booked it right before the rates jumped from 25k on the CPs. It's a good property, friendly staff, nice location. But it's not a Kimpton...

Update to the Wiki (two posts away from doing it myself) - Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (note the spelling), opens Nov 17 2016. There is a resort fee for this property.

Thanks for this. FYI - La Jolla property is no longer a Kimpton.

Completely agree and only one in the heart of the city!
Would have thought they would have added some spots to their portfolio, guess the SF hotels are mostly non union.

For all you Kimptonites, I've updated the list for properties that have been sold off, future hotels, and new hotels currently accepting reservation. I've also included next to the hotel if they are currently available for a complimentary free night if you are Inner Circle.

Unhappy No benefits in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is not participating in Kimpton Karma (they are honoring IHG Rewards) and right now we can not redeem Karma reward nights at that property. Please call and let them know if you are dismayed by this development - they do want to know.

That's interesting. I wonder if they are planning to move over the other properties as well this year to the IHG site.
