The QR crew is not always aware that they have them. I was told they were not available, but in the morning they told (and excused them a few times) that they had found the mattresses.

Had the same issue for upgrading flights. QR allows upgrades to empty seats about one hour before departure of the flight.

To my knowledge the system of the old airport is still valid. You get a receipt and on departure from Doha you can claim the alcohol back.

But I don't know how the process exactly works.

Use it all the time, if it is busy at the airport, the gain is much lower than in the past. If it is a calm day, I guess no benefit in time on arrival. Departure is much faster with the service.
