Back to smoke again. I think now we're getting it from the south with fires near Santa Cruz. Sure wish we could get some due west sea breezes going.

My air purifier arrived yesterday - hoping I wouldn't still need it (this time) when I ordered a week ago and I'd have it for the "next time", but nope still need it now

It’s been a brutal Tuesday in sf and I’m indoors. I fetched groceries at 9 and drove past many construction crews.
next step is ordering extra filters because we don’t want to run out. We just ordered another purifier and I’m going to sign up for the filter semi-annual subscription service. One purifier has signaled “order new filter” for ages and thankfully we have that new filter, ready to go once we get the “Replace” indicator.

It pairs well with Purpleair website.
yep - Our mileage may vary. Every hour... even every quarter hour.
agreed - we have to stay indoors and use our air purifiers nonstop.

Be glad you're not in Quincy where my youngest brother is. They're surrounded by fires and the AQI there is 333 right now. We're about half that in Benicia (159).

My 11 year old said the fires are a government plot to keep everyone indoors and wipe out COVID. I can think of no better conspiracy theory.
The air today does not seem as bad indoors. Maybe it helped to clear out the bad air last night. Unfortunately the experts say we are unlikely to see permanent relief until the fires are 65% contained, and we aren't even close.

Ahh.... like the low (many days 4-500's) during crop burning season in Chiang Mai (Thailand)

All good today in SF Bay Area except for areas adjacent to fire zones (ie San Jose and wine country). Things are even improving in Yosemite which is great as we are headed up there this weekend. Fog and lower temps have aided fire containment efforts.
