Not sure - I was going by the website. I've not been by the A gates during the daytime in ages.

Passed by there again and the sign out front now displays the open hours. Will have to check it out sometime, although it’s also rare that I would be there during those limited hours.

I have gone by that area a lot over the last year or so when flying out of T1 and having to exit the AirTrain at the Intl A stop thanks to the T1 stop still being closed.

I'm flying into SFO International Terminal A and then connecting to Terminal 2, will it be possible for me to enter International Terminal G to access the lounge? Btw, I have a very long layover.

Yes. You can get into any terminal with a same day BP. You'll need to enter security @ G, and then you can go airside to T2 later.

Is the whole airport connected airside?

No -- A and B are connected airside; and CDEFG are all connected to each other airside; but there is no airside connection between those two groupings.

What lounge would you access in G? On these facts, you don't have Polaris lounge access, and the UC in G sucks. Much better to use the UC in F, if that's what you have access to.

The Clubhouse is in A, not G.

Security after international arrivals, SFO. We're arriving from SFO from Europe in a couple weeks. I've done this dozens of time before and have always wondered. When you pass immigration and customs, for connecting flights it dumps you out into a security line to clear security for your next flight and sometimes that line is ridiculously long. I've always wondered, as someone with TSA pre, doesn't it make sense to walk down a little further and just go through the normal TSA pre security line? I'm also gold so I have access to the premier check in line.

I've never done this because you risk misconnecting but IDK, any thoughts?

I've done this plenty of times, though not at SFO because that's my home airport. I've done it less so recently as some airports now have PreCheck lanes in the international-to-domestic-connection security line, but the idea is sound. Depending on the length of the walk involved and the relative size of the lines, you may not end up saving any time, so it's up to each person to weigh that vs. how much of a benefit it is to them not having to take shoes off, liquids/laptops out of the bag, etc.

Not sure what you're referring to, as there's no special transit security checkpoint at SFO. The closest checkpoint to the "Connecting Flights" exit is F3, which is now open only very limited hours and currently lacks Pre (but did offer it pre-covid). If you keep going, you'll hit F1 checkpoint, which has Pre. You could also backtrack to International G security, there's Pre there as well.

This does sound like IAH though, where there's a specific transit security checkpoint, which lacks Pre. IAD similar with the midfield checkpoint.

Thanks Both. I may be confusing IAH and SFO they all tend to blur because I've flown through them both, a lot. Thanks for your input.

I had a flight changed on me so the itinerary is now down to a 90 minute connection here on December 23rd. I'll do pre-clearance from Canada which I assume means I won't need to pick up and recheck luggage if everything's on time. It looks like I can stay after security the whole way from T2 to international G? What are the chances I would make this connection? It's the last flight out for the day and I really prefer not to get stuck overnight.
