Have you eaten there? We're big fans of Amy's for their unusually good frozen entrées, and that's why it's never occurred to me to give their restaurant a try. I mean, do they just heat something up for you in a microwave?

I've been to the Rohnert Park location a few times and it is decent - typical fast food set up, food prepared to order, and staff usually in a better mood than your typical fast food establishment. I've not tried the "cheeze." The veg burgers are respectable. If I were a betting man, I'd bet that there's a good probability that I'll be having same again on Sunday while driving back from Healdsburg.
Nothing against Amy's but I'll always go to one of those three before Amy's. I give Amy plenty of business almost every time I go to Safeway. |

I love the Amy's brand and I hope they succeed in the Harvey Milk Terminal, but their neighbors include Bun Mee (really good Vietnamese), The Little Chihuahua (pretty good Mexican), and Mama Go’s Filipino Cuisine (I liked it very much, but I have little perspective on the quality of Filipino cuisine).

Auckland to LHR via SFO
I am travelling on a single PNR and wonder how easy it is to transit SFO with Air New Zealand.
I am guessing my bags will be through checked and I will need to enter the US, reclaim my bags and check them in again. Is this easy to do and will I have to catch the AirTrain? Many thanks for any assistance. |

Many thanks for any assistance. You will need to clear immigration, reclaim your checked bag, go through customs, and then re-check the bag right after customs. You'll see signs as you exit customs for baggage re-check. Once you recheck your bag, you'll need to go through security at the G-side of the International Terminal. Make sure you don't go to the A-side, as that would put you on a very long walk to the NZ departure gate, which will be among the G gates. This is all pretty straightforward, but you might have a substantial wait as you go through immigration. That's hard to predict, as it hinges a lot on the timing of other large planes arriving at International. Best of luck! |
Also, A.Muggins, between your two long flights you might like to visit the outdoor terrace at the end of the G Concourse, between G11 and G13. Enjoy some fresh air before heading back into a flying tube.

A.Muggins, your post prompted me to look into NZ flights from SFO-LHR. I now realize that I was working from a false assumption. I thought you meant that NZ started flying AUK-SFO-LHR like it has done with AUK-LAX-LHR. I realize now that you probably have a codeshare on United for SFO-LHR, right? If so, then everything I said above is mostly correct, except it will be a United departure gate in Concourse G.

Best I'm aware, AirNZ also doesn't fly to Alakanuk, Alaska - from either SFO or LAX! They do however fly both AKL-SFO and AKL-LAX!

You people are harsh but fair.

Hi, my brother is flying with me next week, who had knee surgery recently. Anyone knows how long does it take to walk from E to B gates airside? Thanks.

(Time estimates are "city walking speeds.") The "inner circle" part of the walk is maybe 10 minutes or so. The E pier isn't very long (a few minutes). The B pier is quite long and is the big variable. Anywhere between 1 and perhaps 7 to 8 minutes.

Flying either SYD or BNE to SFO and then connecting to YYZ on UA. Do I need to clear US customs in SFO or do I proceed to the SFO-YYZ gate directly, since I'm "transferring" ? Thanks in advance. As an aside, I do hav Global Entry and NEXUS.
