How long, in folks' experiences, does it take for the Hertz points to post?

5-10 days.

In some markets (i.e. Hawaii or NYC or SFO) that could be several hundreds of $US. Anyway, just a thought, is anyone else redeeming their e-rewards currency for Hertz?

Thanks for this idea! We've rented a car on Maui a couple times and it came out to more than one of our cheap tickets from the west coast.

Just to add to this:

* My last transfer to Hertz took 5 days (11/4/12 - 11/9/12).

* And yes, I've been pushing my e-rewards over to Hertz lately. We are going to Honolulu next month and we are renting 4 days spaced out over the week. With the remaining taxes, it is a bit over $7/day for a Hertz local rental and a bit over $12 from the airport. I booked 1 month before and had no problem getting standard awards and have had no problem tweaking the pickup times (one I pushed back to the night before) after the original booking.

Hertz is easily the the best option there. The dollar value of the priority club and hilton, along with the airline redemptions is somehting like $30-45 max, for something that would require atleast 3 or 4 hours worth of time. Is there anyone here who is really earning less than $10 an hour?

I think HH points are often undervalued on FT. I can easily get over a cent per point for international AXON redemptions, so actually I collect about $200-$300 cash value out of these surveys each year. But the real point is, you can do them simultaneously while you're pretendin to work at your actual job, which makes it seem like you're getting paid big bucks to do these surveys regardless of your redemption choice:D And it makes the workday go faster.

I agree with you here. I've found the AXON redemptions yield tremendous values at some great top Category locations, and easily pass the $300-$400/night value.

Let's see - August 2012 to January 2013 - just about 5 months along with multiple requests, numerous non-committal responses from e-rewards (we are investigating and will let you know asap - yeh, right) and nearly a write-off of any hope of getting them EVER.

NYC market is excluded from point redemption. Anywhere else, I generally found standard (not anytime) availability is hard to find in major metro markets.

Lately, within a week. When they first offered the reward a year or so ago, I had to contact e-rewards to get it. I haven't had a problem since on mine or my husband's account.

Or, as I have pointed out before, there's real value at the other end on occasion: If you're going to the Four Corners area during high season, you can pay $200+ at the very nice Hampton Inn in Farmington, or get it for almost free with a $100 $125 redemption. Or if you have to be in Dallas or Ft. Worth on a night whenever everything is sky-high, the 7500 point Hampton Inn in Mansfield is a bargain.

That's a fair point, you guys are right, the AXON is a good value (assuming it still exists)

Erewards redemption for Hhonors lag time

Redeemed $100 for 7K Hhonors points over 2 hours ago (got email fulfillment confirmation from erewards) yet no points have credited to Hhonors account. In the past the redemption took place in the wink of an eye. Has anyone else noticed any lag time, days, weeks, months?

Yes, I did the same redemption about a month ago, and it took about a day for the points to appear. And so I also worried that something was wrong. I wonder if, somehow, that longer lag time is related to why e-rewards raised the redemption rate for most members. Maybe what used to be an automated process is now a manual process and e-rewards is trying to recover the cost of an employee's time.

When I read the posts about people getting their Hertz rewards posted so quickly, I shake my head and wonder if these are all just "fake posts" from eRewards themselves. Then I see how many posts you people have made so I reckon you are legit. :)

Still, I am really disappointed that it is taking *me* so long to get what is due to me. I wonder if anyone knows what the recourse is if they do not provide the reward after 3 or 4 months? State attorney general? Any ideas?

Mary2e Feb 23, 2013 9:00 am

Did you write to E-rewards customer service? That's all I had to do to get mine taken care of.

I just redeemed on Monday and still don't have the points in my Hertz account, so it is possible they have slowed it down just a bit. My last redemption, from my husband's account, showed up within a week.

Mary2e Feb 23, 2013 9:04 am

This post made me curious, so I looked at my Hertz account and found the 500 points had been added in the last day or so.

No, they are not fake posts. I've redeemed e-rewards to Hertz 4 times and it always took less than a week. Then I tried another account at the end of 2012 and they have not arrived yet. First, it says "Offer open to U.S. and Canadian residents only." I hadn't seen that. Second, I've been receiving e-mails that they are closing the Hertz #1 Club and transitioning to Hertz Gold Plus Rewards. It may have something to do with that.

SFOHPN Feb 23, 2013 2:52 pm

I redeemed for Hertz on 2/15 and the points were there when I checked this morning, so another data point for ~1 week turnaround.

TheAJ Feb 25, 2013 1:16 pm

i did on feb 20th and it already posted february 23.

Question: Has anyone tried redeeming the Hertz points more than once in a calender quarter? The E-rewards T&C says you can only do once every calender quarter, but is it really enforced?

Mary2e Feb 25, 2013 1:47 pm

I've tried to when I couldn't remember if I had redeemed, and it stopped me almost immediately and said to wait until the next quarter.

It is really enforced because it is built into the program and the system would not let you. This is true for ALL e-Reward redemption, not just Hertz. You dont really think they would have a human actually checking on your online redemption and hope it would slip thru when the human fails to catch it? (i.e. "enforcement")

Definitely enforced. It's a computer program. It won't let you until a new month rolls around.

Got it, thanks. I thought there was a chance it was not enforced.

I signed up with E-rewards through a United invitation to get 250 bonus miles. These will be credited after I complete one survey. However, every single survey I attempt to complete is expired. I get a survey invitation in my inbox and within a hours sometimes go to complete it and it is expired. I don't get it. This has happened almost ten times. Any ideas as to why? Why would they send out survey invitations that expire immediately?

Same here. I signed up, it kicked me out at the end of the process, and now the link won't work anymore.
On another note, it appears that AA has a PUBLIC offer to join e-Rewards and get 250 miles for signing up. I did, created an account, completed a couple of surveys, and got a confirmation email that my 250 miles will be deposited in 4-6 weeks.

I've just been invited to join e-rewards through Virgin Australia's Velocity Rewards. Is this the only non-US scheme using e-rewards?

neuromancer Feb 27, 2013 2:08 am

When accessing the survey you must have an IP address from the same country as in your e-rewards profile. Otherwise all the surveys are expired.
Virgin Australia is not the only non-US partner, there are BA And Iberia Avios too, Air France and a lot of other countries, but I don't know any partners from them.

beachmouse Feb 27, 2013 9:49 am

Here's my list of non-USA airline redemption options-

Emirates
Iberia
Etihad
Virgin Atlantic
AeroMexico
Flying Blue (Air France/KLM)

I'm not sure e-Rewards is active in those countries, or if they were just cheap for the company to partner with for USA redemptions. I don't have Virgin Australia listed as a redemption option FWIW and I supposedly have all USA-based redemptions since I'm there via the now-cancelled Delta Sky Miles route.

Rewards changed (for worse)?

I just logged in today and saw the redemption chart changed:

All Airline options gone except for AAdvantage
HHonors 7000 points now costs $125 (used to be $100)

yikes! when did this happen???

Edit: checked with my friend and apparently its me only. Emailed CS and will see what they say.

It's not only you. If you read the thread just a few pages back you will see the Hilton change has been reported by several users. It happened in 2012.

Hilton is now $125 unless you signed up to e-Rewards through HH (in which case it is still $100).

How many points are needed to get a Hertz one day economy rental.

Also, if I rent for lt's say five days, can a Hertz reward be used to pad it up for 6 days or shall they be separate transactions.

Sorry I am not too familiar with Hertz. For the moment I redeem on Airtran and it works great. Wondering if I am missing anything here..

Depends on the country, 600 points in the US, 900 in Europe, 1200 in Brazil

You might be able to get more detailed answers in the Hertz forum.

United mileage transfer time?

I just transferred $25 of Erewards in to 500 miles for my wife's United account from her E-Rewards account a few days ago. I know with Hilton in the past the transfer was fairly instant, but this one seems to be lagging. Any experience with timing?

Transferred Friday 3/1. Arrived today 3/8, but appears dated 3/5 in my MP statement.

Hilton is instant, but the other partners may take from 1 to 6-8 weeks.

Thanks for the feedbank. I guess I will check early next week.

For the past 2-3 weeks, I haven't received any survey offers. Prior to that, I used to get several offers per week.

Have others seen a drop in survey offers too? Besides messaging their customer service, I don't suppose I have any other option?

Do you have an e-Rewards account with AA? I had it through a couple of airlines and the surveys just stopped coming in months ago, probably because of the speed with which I completed them. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that you can sign up for e-Rewards without an invitation through the AA site. It's a public offer there. You get 250 AA miles just for signing up, and after I did I've been getting 2-3 surveys per day.
