Do you have an e-Rewards account with AA? I had it through a couple of airlines and the surveys just stopped coming in months ago, probably because of the speed with which I completed them. I noticed a couple of weeks ago that you can sign up for e-Rewards without an invitation through the AA site. It's a public offer there. You get 250 AA miles just for signing up, and after I did I've been getting 2-3 surveys per day.

Thanks. Indeed I did have an account with AA. I will try signing up yet again.

Any tips on getting more surveys? I've updated my profile several times but things seem to have completely dried up.

Did you abuse it in any way?

They tend to just shut you off without warning if they suspect anything/something wrong

Don't quote me on it but I get the feeling that if you select yourself as female, african american or hispanic, you have a better chance of getting into a survey than if you are male, white or asian, whom I feel are overrepresented in these studies. That being said, I'm a 25 year old Asian male and I'm content with the 1 or 2 survey opportunities I get daily. Dunno if it pays more to be younger or older.

brettalb Mar 14, 2013 4:54 pm

I think younger helps. At least, it seemed like I got less offers once I hit a "milestone" birthday.

MilesGator Mar 15, 2013 1:29 pm

For the first few months I was "abusing" eRewards by blindly clicking answers (though I did at least make sure to keep an eye out for the quality control questions). After 2-3 months of this (when I was getting 1-3 surveys/day), my account all of a sudden stopped for about 2-3 weeks. I came here to find out why and some people mentioned that this sort of abuse may cause them to stop sending surveys. I eventually got another survey, and actually took the time to answer the questions truthfully. Since then I've slowly been getting more and more to the point where now I get 2-3/week.

But now I have a eMiles account where I'm 20 pts shy of a redemption and haven't gotten any new offers in 2-3 weeks!

Honesty and consistency are the key for these survey sites. I've always answered this way and get surveys consistently, both through erewards and emiles.

How long does it take to receive (or get an acknowledgment) the 350 first time bonus miles??

freetravelguys Mar 17, 2013 11:17 am

Security verification question

Just filled out a long survey and half way through it there was a question (right when you were expecting to be on autopilot, clicking and dragging) that said "For security purposes drag every choice into Box #3". They're getting sneaky, just to make sure you're awake while answering the questions. Just a heads up.

I've rec'd a lot of surveys with the "for security purposes, check box 3" (and things similar)

The 350 first time bonus is kind of misleading. You don't get it just by signing up. You have to complete all the offer they give you when you first sign up to get the full 350. That means, you not only have to complete the surveys, but you have to sign up for the Brad's Deals newsletter, you have to request the free Tempurpedic sample and the free Disney Vacation DVD.

You must be thinking of some other site. I have never heard of those things on e-Rewards.

I also have only heard the airlines giving 250 miles if you sign up through them. And you can do that straight away even if you have no e-Rewards cash in your acct. If you signed up through a company that offered 350 bonus points then click on rewards, then click on the company you signed up through and there will be an option to claim a zero dollar award.

No, that is nowhere to be found...

What is no where to be found? I don't understand your question.

What company offered you the 350 bonus points? e-Rewards does not offer bonus points. Only the companies that are referring you to e-Rewards offer the bonuses.

From my experience, you must redeem the 350 bonus miles yourself from the e-rewards site. They did not come automatically.

No, I didn't abuse the service in any way, but I went about 2-3 full weeks with nothing from e-rewards (no emails, no surveys) and then bam, a few days ago, like 2-4 surveys a day from them. I was beginning to give up!

it was an offer from southwest rapid rewards. The 350 mile redemption is nowhere to be found.

Ril Jaa follow these steps and you will locate the reward. Login to e-Rewards and at the top click on "Rewards" and then click on Southwest,

I did this recently with an AA bonus. So once you get to the reward redemption page for Southwest the very first reward should be for 0.00 dollars. I don't remember exactly how the page looked. But this 0.00 dollar award does not carry the normal e-Rewards restrictions like not being able to redeem from the same company within 90 days. You can redeem with Southwest again tomorrow if you have enough money to redeem.

Anyway that is how it works. If there is no 0.00 reward to redeem I don't know what to tell you. It has happened for me with AA, and others I know have done it for AA and AS.

On my account, after going through the initial surveys (not the actual surveys, my account still says $0.00), I would click on rewards, click on MileagePlus, and I would see a link to redeem 250 New account FREE MP miles. I would need an additional $25 of surveys to redeem for another 500 miles. Don't plan on doing them.

On my gf's account, after going through the initial surveys, clicking on rewards -> MileagePlus, and nothing. No 250 free MP miles to redeem. I suspect they see the same IP address and therefore shutting her off!

Initially I signed up for this program thinking I can use this E-rewards and E-miles for UA and AA to gain some points here and there, but from reading this forum seems like most everyone is redeeming Hilton and Hertz. Is there a reason for that?

HH used to be a good value and Hertz is still a good value. Also there are other sources for UA (UR, Hotel points etc.) and AA (Diners, Hotel points transfer etc.) miles but HH and Hertz don't have so many sources. At least that is what I feel. Regardless u should redeem for what makes best sense to your situation as everybody has different needs.

If you have Hilton @ 7,000 per $100 that seems like a good way to redeem your points. However I believe the Hertz points are the best "bang" for your buck- but only redeem for what you require. I redeem for AA, UA, Iberia & Priority Club... all dependent on my next award redemption!

I agree completely. I personally plan on redeeming my next batch for La Quinta points, which I normally wouldn't do, but I have about 6,000 LQ points just sitting and expiring at the end of this year so this will let me get enough for an award night somewhere and call it a day with LQ. Each situation is different so it's better to redeem based on your travel plans. My go-to redemption all things being equal is Club Carlson.

Man, I didn't realize how much e-rewards currency I have. I seem to be a hoarder I have almost $750 in currency. What to do what to do! Any suggestions?

HH, Hertz, airlines etc. - whatever floats your boat :).

Yea, I figured. I have so much flexibility and so many options, it's mind boggling. :p

airventure Apr 10, 2013 10:14 am

How often are people getting survey notices. I use to get 2-3 a day and now nothing. Heck I'm even an honest survey taker and spend time on them. It seems like they stopped after I redeemed my first reward, which I know you can only do once a month.

beachmouse Apr 10, 2013 10:57 am

I'll get about 3 every two weeks, and my demographics aren't particularly attractive.

If you redeem for PC points, they apparently do count toward status for the year.

Wow, how long did it take you to accumulate that amount?

bj2757 Apr 11, 2013 11:00 am

Between the Mrs and I we still get 3-4 a week - but rarely get past the qualifying point - and more often than not lately as soon as the email arrives with a survey it's already gone - or it says we've done it already. I normally get enough on my account to redeem for 7,000 HH points 3 times a year.

Its really weird, I got maybe 3-4 surveys that first week of registration, after that, nothing. My mother on the other hand gets about 5 surveys a week. I've made $1.50 total since my account opening 2 months ago and she's at $88.00 in which I made her open the account last month. We both make up random answers... Maybe she just got lucky.

You know, I don't really know. I've been a member of e-rewards since September 2007 and I guess I don't redeem much! I used to save them up to help count towards Priority Club elite status, but now that I have the PC credit card, that isn't needed (oh, and their change of the elite qualification rules).

I usually try to wait for partner offers from airlines (e.g., 25% bonus on all partner points earned, Grand Slam, etc.) but there hasn't been much of that.

Just the other day I realized my large balance and thought I should start cashing it in...but I can't decide on what I want to do.

beachmouse Apr 12, 2013 2:45 pm

If you're planning any multi-leg trips to Europe and have the $100 for 3,000 Iberia Avios option, that might be a good deal for you. Seems like the one area the Avios get good reviews are for low miles cost intra-Europe flights.

How long does it take nowadays to receive a transfer into US?? I ordered one a week ago but still have not gotten it yet!

Most of my transfers usually take a few days. I transferred into UA for one account and Hertz for another over a week ago and still do not have anything yet.

Brendan Apr 16, 2013 4:47 pm

Thank U, Satz! HHonors has always been immediate for me. Does anyone know about the other partners?

beachmouse Apr 16, 2013 5:12 pm

I cashed out for Priority Club points on January 24 and they were deposited in my account on January 29.

beachmouse Apr 19, 2013 7:57 am

Mystery $23 showed up in my account today. I'm assuming it was from the Delta transition bonus deal. I also noticed that there is no redemption limit for PC points, so have decided to see if I can get myself Gold status for the year solely by answering surveys.
