I'd imagine you'll get Jetblue, all hotels and all non-travel partners, that's how it works usually.

I'm a member through USAir but just got an invitation from Jetblue. I'm weighing whether to cash out of my account and accept the invitation since the only airline that is a redemption partner now for me is United and I'm flush with United miles. Does anyone else have a Jetblue account and if so, who are the redemption partners? TIA.

A couple of things from my own experience:
1. Yup, it's definitely the case that the currency you continue to earn keeps adding to the pile of currency shown as expiring 2. But, if you have been told specifically that your currency won't expire, you don't have to worry that it still shows as expiring (at least based on my experience, of course). That happened to me too; I did get a response when I wrote them indicating that I did not have to worry about it, and my currency did not expire when I went over the date ^ Apparently they don't really have a way to change the display on your home page, but the designation as a "valuable member whose currency won't expire" overrides that. FTF I do not quite trust it so I redeemed $100 to United when the expiring figure showed $219. Now the figure changed to $144! So any new earning actually ADDs to the expiring pile's number - otherwise there is no explanation why the number of Expiring currency is a Moving Target! They finally sent me another email re-iterated that I dont have any currency expiring this year - despite what the website shows. I would need to keep a screenshot of July 31st and then check after Aug 1 to see if the total currency has changed! |
Your total expiring fell $75, which is correct, as 75% of the $100 you redeemed would otherwise have expired.

Here are the sequence of events: 1) Total currency was $377 with $277 expiring Aug 1. Redeemed $70 and the expiring number changed to $219. Using your logic, $52.5 should be the number used to deduct from $277 - that should give me $224xx, but the balance is $219 intead. 2) Redeemed another $100 and the expiring balance changed to $144. This seems to match your 75% logic but I am not sure it is a co-incidence or not as 1) certainly does not support your logic. 3) Redeemed another $100 and the expiring balance changed to $69. Again, this seems to match your 75% logic. May be when a round number of $100 is used, the algorithm works this way. But if 75% from expiring currency 25% from Non-expiring currency for redemption is the method, it does not explain the numbers in 1). My guess is the calculation in the display is totally screwed up for accounts have original expiration months that are from May or June onward. My husband's account anniversary is in March or April, his anniversary has long gone yet his account does NOT even show expiring currency. e-Reward insisted it has sent me an email on June 28th informing me my currency would not expire this year - but I could not find such email, and believe I have never gotten it. |
The expiration date reset to Aug 1, 2013
Total miles do not change. Expiration date is reset to 2013 but the number of expiring miles changed.
For those who have redeemed UA miles and PC points, how long it takes for the miles / points hit your loyalty accounts? |
PC points post on Monday after redemption (but I haven't done this for a while, things may have changed).
|
Both UA miles and PC points posted on 7/31 - despite they were redeemed on different dates - about a week for UA miles and 4 days for PC pts.
|
Does anyone know how long it takes for Iberia Avios to post? I redeemed a few days ago for 3000 Avios.
|
Avios went in my Iberia account in the last couple days. For a datapoint, I'd say it took between 6-8 days.

Erewards -Change on HH with zero notice

I redeem the $100 HH option each quarter. If this goes away, so might my participation in e-Rewards. None of the other reward options sails my boat.
|
Did you click on the Survey link and only got the member log in page?
This has been happening to my husband's account - 3 surveys in a row - once clicked the survey link in the email, it brought up the Member Log In screen instead of a Survey Page.
I wonder if anyone is seeing the same thing. If this continues for another day or two, I will email eRewards for the problem. |
This is a very bad devaluation in the HH program. probably will change to another program if true
|
Just checked my account and the $100/7,000 option is still there (and if it does go away for me, please, please, please wait until Sept, 19th ;))
|
Rats! I'm at $92.50 and continue to log in to look at the 7K redemption, just need to see it every day. Sure, I could redeem for something else, but, I covet those HH points.
|
Bummer about the Hilton points :( I'm still showing the 7,000 pts redemption but at this rate I'll never reach it in time. The last dozen surveys they sent me ALL said "this opportunity expired" even when I click on it the minute the email comes. Anyone else have this issue?
|
I received an email today. It said that the 7000 points were no longer available, but gave me a link to what was supposed to be the lesser point redemptions. Out of curiosity I clicked and it took me to a site that had not only the lesser redemptions but also included the 7000 point redemption. HUH? Why tell me it is no longer available and then send me to a site that shows it is available.
|
I just redeemed $100 for the 7K HH points. Within 2 minutes, they were in my HH account.

E-rewards [Master Thread]

My husband's account has HHonor but we have not gotten any email yet and the redemption screen still shows the 7K option. Unfortunately he would not be able to redeem another one until October. :( Mine does not have HHonor because eRewards said mine is from PC invite. I never figure out where my husband's is from - he gets every airline and every hotel program. |

I just checked and my 7,000 HH points are in my account. I put in the e-reward request a couple of hours ago.

I'm looking for information as to which redemptions can be done without aname/address match between your E-rewards account and the respective FF/Hotel account. I have information to share (one that works, one that does not) and will appreciate someone else's experience as well.
PM if you have info to share. Thanks. |

As for the HHonors rewards, I don't (yet) see any changes in the rewards levels on my account. I hope they don't change. :( |
$100 for 2K AA miles posted within 2-3 days for me. My experience with e-rewards has been fairly positive, I get between 1 to 3 surveys a day on average. I started at the end of June I believe. So about 6 weeks to reach $100. Good enough to keep miles from expiring.

I'm with you. $100 worth of these surveys for 7K HH points is totally not worthwhile to me. That's $1150 in grocery purchases on a Hilton CC. And it's passive.

Right now, I'm just trying to get enough Priority Club points so I can move them over to airline miles and effectively close out an account I'm just not going to otherwise use any time soon.

You probably be better off cashing in for a couple Points Break nights. |
United's fairly useless for where I live. Lousy as the transfer rate is, I come out slightly ahead by clearing out an unused account than just going straight to (sigh) Delta miles.

Yes, DL is not easy to redeem because it requires tons of homework and the domestic portion often does not have low level... but once you are willing to spend time and effort to learn the rope on how to do it (DL forum has excellent STICKY), you would find it actually is quite useful! |
I'm just jealous of the nice redemption options you get with so many other FF programs compared to DL. But the only (and very limited) United and AA flights out of my wee airport only connect through Texas, and I'm not jealous enough to go significantly west in order to then go back east or due north from VPS.
So DL and Satan's commuter airline ASA it is for sheer convenience in other ways, and maybe someday I can get lucky like your friend. |

Given it is an airport that is NOT well-served, you would most likely need to make position flight OUTSIDE award redemption in order to open up your options. A bus ride may even work. Many people I know use bus and train in the NE region to get them to the hubs - more economical than those expensive short hops. |
To get to an actual competitive and well-served airport scenario, it's a six hour drive one way by passenger car to Orlando. Moderately competitive would probably be New Orleans, which is still about a four hour drive one way, and I'm not quite hard core enough just yet to start pricing out the Greyhound tickets. (Amtrak in my area has effectively been dead since Hurricane Katrina.)
I miss NWA. |
