Sometimes we can get myopic about this. We do surveys, they give us some scrip which we trade for miles/points. On the other side of the equation someone is paying for market research to a company who then, in turn, pays e-rewards for the completed surveys.

Bad economy equals fewer marketing campaigns, fewer product launches, etc.

Ergo, less scrip per survey and less surveys overall.

E-rewards itself could begin having revenue problems itself at some point in the near future as their business dries up.

i just completed a $6 survey to cash out 1000 NW miles (which put me at 25012 miles:D)

I think in the last 12 months i've gotten $150-$200 total in surveys

benjie May 5, 2009 10:12 am

For anyone who is still receiving a fair number of surveys, could you share an overview of your profile?

Thanks!

Decline in Surveys

I've had 3 in the past two months. Once I reach the $25 plateau, I will cash out for miles.

Tiki May 6, 2009 10:15 pm

I was lured into this in March by Priority Club. Since then, I have been sent a couple surveys a week but I keep getting kicked out at the end and told I do not meet their criteria. I have been trying to keep my answers moderate and always leaving a door open so they see me as a potential customer. I got all the way to the end of one about cosmetics and told them I use a couple brands so they would be encouraged to keep me on their books but got kicked out at the end for no reason I could see. I wish I knew what they want to hear. I think I got something ridiculous like .25 cents when the survey was advertised at $6. I currently have about $9.50, once I get to the minimum for some PC points, I am outta there.

relativelynormal May 6, 2009 11:40 pm

I always get surveys in cycles or spurts. At times I'll go a month without receiving anything at all from them. Then I'll get like 4 or 5 in two weeks. My personal favorite survey they offer is the one where they ask you whether or not you have read magazine x. Then they proceed to ask you a bunch of questions on the ads in that page. It's a little tedious but it is a quick and easy $3. I'm pretty sure there is a way you can pick the answers to make sure you'll qualify for the full amount and not get like $0.25.

I have been doing eRewards for almost a year and generally receive 5-7 a week--one almost every day. There was a little lull--maybe December and January where it dropped down to one a week or less, but is back up to normal now.

I am female, over 35, work full-time for a financial institution, and have a college degree. Most of the surveys that I "qualify" for seem to be for retail type products/services...beverages, shopping, makeup, travel (lots of them), and phone services. I do not make it very far on any IT or media-related ones. At the end of any where I do not qualify, I always click the "more" button and give them more info about me. I think this helps get more opportunities. YMMV :)

e-rewards Transfer to Delta

Can I use my e-rewards currency to transfer into Delta miles for my wife's Delta account? We have different last last names.

Thanks

Vic

neuromancer May 8, 2009 3:06 pm

Yes you can, just change the name of your e-rewards account to match the Delta account (My Account -> Update contact info)

ChaseTheMiles May 10, 2009 12:41 pm

Just noticed a $1 reward good for $15 off on FTD Flowers and expiring tomorrow.

However, that $15 off will prevent you from earning miles, getting regular discounts on the site, etc. It basically sends you through a preferred link where everything is full price, and then you get $15 off of that.

rove312 May 10, 2009 3:58 pm

I got, I think, four offers to watch the pilot of a TV series. I was reluctant because I think video on an old survey knocked my old computer out, but I was confident enough that my current PC can handle it, was accepted by one survey, and it brought my balance up $12.

jgates8 May 14, 2009 5:43 pm

Just as a note - if you are using a e-mail provider that is not a hotmail account, yahoo etc., they may be blocking them. I have found that my CenturyTel e-mail account, despite the fact that it is supposed to deliver any junk to the spam folder, will still totally not bring in some messages. My e-rewards totally stopped for about 3 months. I changed the e-mail address to a hotmail address & they resumed again within a day or two. So it might be worth trying to change your e-mail address. I ended up losing a winning Coke Edo code or two before I realized Century Tel was never bringing in my winning e-mails too.

jgates8 May 14, 2009 5:46 pm

Is it ok to change it back again afterwards or will they hassle you? Also, would this cause a problem if a husband and wife both had an account? In other words will it not let you redeem from multiple accounts into the same Hilton account/Airline account or will it reject since it would appear one person had multiple accounts?

bj2757 May 14, 2009 5:54 pm

Someone earlier said they "refreshed" their profile info and that seemed to generate some surveys. I hadn't received any in awhile so I refreshed mine and got 3 surveys in 4 days (non that I qualified for unfortunately) - maybe just a coincidence.

Brendan May 14, 2009 8:32 pm

True, Jgates8! One DL acct. can receive only one e-rewards transfer per calendar quarter, last I've heard. So Sjuhawk_jd can put DL into his wife's DL only if neither she nor anyone else has/ will deposit(ed) to her DL between April 1--June 30.

yanxfann May 15, 2009 7:12 am

Somewhat along the same lines but for Northwest rather than Delta: I just did a redemption from my own e-rewards acct into my NWA acct in conjunction with the Pile On the Miles promo. Can I now do another redemption of some of my remaining e-rewards into a non-family member's (say a FT'er) NWA account?

Brendan May 16, 2009 9:53 am

Nope, Yanxfann! U have used up your 1 NW redemption until whatever time limit has passed. Remember that all this name changing on acct.s is an error in e-r's system--they didn't intend to allow it!

3rivers May 23, 2009 12:26 pm

I can only transfer e-rewards to NWA. Are you saying that for the promotions, I could transfer say $50 erewards to NWA for person A and person A could reciprocate and transfer $50 erewards to my Delta account?

I need another partner for the Delta pile on the miles promo - that's why I am asking

3rivers May 23, 2009 12:28 pm

My wife redeemed erewards 1 week ago to make her balance almost $0 - she had been receiving no surveys for quite a while.

Since she redeemed, she has received 5 surveys

FFLASV May 23, 2009 2:03 pm

I was getting $250 - $500 in surveys two or three years ago. The number and value have been falling off ever since then. Now I get about one, or at the most, two per month and almost never for more than $8.00. My wife was getting about as many as I was, but she is also down to one a month.

jgates8 May 23, 2009 6:26 pm

Wow - actually a $12 survey tonight that I QUALIFIED for - received the reward immediately after completion!

Brendan May 24, 2009 12:12 pm

Maybe, 3 rivers!
Only if:
U have not transferred NW miles from e-r to yourself this period;
AND Person A can transfer to DL but has not done so to his own or anyone's DL since April 1/ 2009.

3rivers May 25, 2009 5:51 am

OK Brendan - thanks for confirming. I have NEVER transferred erewards to NWA before.
Is there a way on this forum I can do a trade with someone that I transfer ereward to his NWA account and he transfers his erwards to my DL account? Thanks.

No. That takes place in the Coupon Connection Forum. Access requires 90 posts and 90 days as a member of FT.

Where exactly did you click; I can't seem to replicate this.

E-rewards scrubbed out some of my profile!

Checking for profile alterations by e-rewards is probably a good idea too. I used to get tons of surveys and it dried up to almost nothing in early 2007. Today, I got a small survey (first in many months) and decided to check my profile. The whole of my "what interests you" section was completely blank! Now that I've put back the profile answers that e-rewards had lost, maybe I'll get some more surveys?

msv Jun 20, 2009 5:34 pm

I'm 10 cents away from my $25 mark and my beloved Hilton points but my year ends at the end of June. Do I have to get one more survey before this time or do my earnings from the next time period get added before things start to expire on Aug 1?

Jimster Jun 20, 2009 8:48 pm

erewards

I used to participate frequently but as others have mentioned the surveys kinda dried up and i seldom got any. Then I started getting them again but I got very irritated at them. Often I'd answer 40-50 questions and they'd get all the information they needed and then say: "oh, you don't qualify". What a scam. Also the amounts of rewards per survey have diminished substantially. The result- I don't participate any more.

You can use your pre-July and post-June points combined until they expire on August 1, so you have until then to hit your $25 threshhold.

Thanks, that's a relief!

Update: easily made the $25 + got quite a few after that. I did have to wait until the 90 day limit for the HH exchange.

LBooth311 Jun 22, 2009 12:57 am

I just had a short e-rewards survey 2 days ago. If you haven't been getting any surveys lately, try going in and updating your profile. You can change how often you receive surveys and that may give you a bounce in their system.

JeffISU Jun 22, 2009 1:11 pm

I was originally signed up under general e-rewards (I could redeem on any airline). I then chose NW as my sponsor of choice last year allowing me to redeem once/quarter as opposed to just one/year but then it limited redemptions to only NW, no other airlines. I tried emailing e-rewards to change my account back to general or to DL even but no go.

So, I redeemed all my rewards and cancelled the account. Just recently I found a link to request an invitation from Delta, tried to complete, but it said my email was associated with an existing account. Emailed member services for help.

While waiting though I received an invite from Priority Club with a bonus of 350 pts for doing 2 surveys by 2 months plus some welcome gift. My question is whether if I sign up with them if I could still have ALL the airline partners, or ALL hotel partners, or would this limit me to just PC and eliminate HH, for example? Thanks!

neuromancer Jun 22, 2009 1:33 pm

PriorityClub is present in all sponsored accounts just like Hilton, so I'd say you'll have all the partners.
There is a problem with PC itself however, the only time I've redeemed to them (11 weeks ago), I never received the points. The CS are still investigating.

When you cancel the account, the email is still associated and you cannot use it again. You should change the email to something like [email protected] BEFORE cancelling the account if you want to use the same email address.

Thanks, I was able to sign up with the Priority Club invitation I received using the same email address, so all good there. One of my choices of welcome gifts was 500 WP Miles so that was cool. And can confirm I have access to all airline reward options now but only PriorityClub for hotels, Hilton is gone. Fine for me though since SPG/Marriott are my programs.

cytoguy Jun 23, 2009 7:48 am

//I'm 10 cents away from my $25 mark and my beloved Hilton points but my year ends at the end of June.//

Ditto for me, I've been at $24.60 for about 5 months now, despite a couple of profile updates. I'm convinced that there's something in their system that ends your offers when you get within a dollar of a popular redemption level...

robhakari Jun 24, 2009 2:25 pm

grrrr... throughout april and may i was getting 1 or 2 surveys a day, and now that june has rolled around and i actually have time to fill more of them out, i've gotten 2 or 3.

funny how it goes like that

They tried doing that to me a couple of times. I emailed them a pointed note, citing the surveys that occurred with, and they credited me with the full amount. It's worth a try.
