I have been an eRewards member for years and have noticed the decline in surveys the last year - at least surveys I qualify to get more than a quarter on...

Three days ago I received an invitation from a site I belong to to join again - which I did using a second email address.

Has anyone had any experience with two eRewards accounts? I was hoping maybe the new one would generate the amount of surveys I received when I first signed up. I doubt that will happen but what they heck...

Also the amounts of rewards per survey have diminished substantially. The result- I don't participate any more.

Ditto....fewer ops with sneaky tactics that allow them to essentially get your data and not pay out. Still do some but blast through with generic answers since they rip you off more often than not. When I hit $100 in my accounts I think I'll bail since its not what it used to be prior to 2009

Have two biz addresses+two email addresses...one US + one CDN....and dump into the same HH account and never had any problems. fyi...US accounts get greater earning ops at probably 5 to one over CDN.

I tried e-r when it was new. I never earned much==reached 25 bux after a year or so, redeemed & quit. I used to trade for e-r bux on tCC & elsewhere, but the supply of e-r bux has dried up. From your above posts I now have some idea why!

ktremor Jun 30, 2009 1:12 pm

I had orginally signed up with e-rewards back when they started but the email account dried up two years ago. I signed up with priority club about 2 weeks ago and have had a lot of surveys. One thing I noticed with Priority club is there is no limitations on redemptions for PC points, but it looks like it will not post as fast.

So i just signed up for e-rewards and received my first survey offer on Saturday for $6.50. Not bad, I thought. Tried accessing the survey and received a note saying that the sponsor was having problems with the survey and to try again later. Tried later that night, same story. Twice in Sunday, twice on Monday, same thing. Today, the survey closed.

I've been doing ok with Valued Opinions (have redeemed 4 $20 Amazon e-certs in the past year - not bad since I buy all my b-school books at Amazon). Pinecone opps have been pretty scarce lately. I used to get a lot of surveys from vividence/keystone (nice since they gave $10 Amazon certs for each survey), but those have also been VERY few and far between in the past year or so.

We value your time,
The e-Rewards Team

I have been a member in the past. The main benefit was that the currency did not expire for another year.

Today, I logged into E-Rewards after a quick survey and noticed a link offering another year before expiration if I would update my profile. I took that opportunity.

FullTimeFlyer Jul 18, 2009 9:43 pm

I went to belatedly sign up Mrs FullTimeFlyer for e-rewards; she has a small and slowly growing Delta account (and another small NWA account) but with the combo coming it's worth doing.

Although e-rewards still lists Delta and NWA as partners, I can't find any mention of e-rewards on either site. :( It is SkyMiles (or WorldPerks and then SkyMiles) that I want her to earn, so I'm wondering what the heck is going on. Are they still really partners? Is this a situation where I can/should try to make her a hotel account and then spend the e-rewards points on SkyMiles? If I remember correctly you get fewer redemption opportunities that way, but it beats nothing if I can't sign her up through Delta or NWA, I guess.

Anyone know more? Thanks.

FTF

neuromancer Jul 20, 2009 6:54 am

If you sign up throuh an airline, you can redeem only to that airline. If you sigh up through a hotel program, you can redeem to any airline partner.

FullTimeFlyer Jul 20, 2009 7:01 am

Thanks, Neuromancer. That's helpful. Anyone know anything about the disappearance of e-rewards from the Delta and NWA web pages? (I saw them just a while ago, when I mentioned this to a friend and sent a link.) I'd hate to have her spend a bunch of time on it and then have it go the way of AA, which dropped out. (Bad marital plan :o)

Brendan Jul 20, 2009 8:42 am

What are the present restictions on frequency (Once per calendar year, calendar quarter, rolling 6-months, unlimited) for each airline & hotel co.?
Also, can we still get BA miles?

I'm pretty sure that Delta is once per quarter -- not twice per year. I went back and confirmed that I redeemed e-rewards twice in a 4-1/2 month span.

bj2757 Jul 20, 2009 11:20 am

At the (slow) rate the surveys are coming redeeming once a year may be a problem :-) I did get a flurry of 3 or 4 a month or so ago - that makes 3 or 4 so far this year.

Actually it is, but you have to sign up through BA and will have no access to anything else (including shopping gift cards and hotel points). Once per quarter.

I'm not sure, but think that if you have signed up through an airline partner, redemptions to it are once per quarter and just to this partner, if you have access to all the partners then redemptions are once per 180 days

How can you redeem for BMI or Mexicana miles?
I just have the Delta option, Priority club and HHonors on my e-rewards account.
Thanks for your answer

neuromancer Jul 20, 2009 2:21 pm

ramfunes, there is no way unless you sign up for another account through the correct partner (and probably close the current one, as T&C say one account per person)
Or you can post a trade in Coupon conection.

Brendan Jul 20, 2009 2:23 pm

A year or 2 ago, e-r started allowing 1 DL (also NW?) redemption per calendar quarter for those who had signed up via that airline's invitation. Maybe this explains Ktremor's report vs. ExitRowAisle's?

That is probably correct because I went back and checked Delta for my account, which is entrolled through Priority Club, and it is 180 days:

Redemption Limitation

One Reward redemption per 6 months (180 days) per SkyMiles® account and/or e-Rewards Member account.

Someone asked BMI and Mexicana, the Priority Club e-rewards allow you to redeem to them for the following amounts:

Mexicana:
$25 Level 500 MexicanaGO Points
$50 Level 1000 MexicanaGO Points
$100 Level 2000 MexicanaGO Points

BMI
$25 Level 500 Diamond Club destinations miles
$50 Level 1,000 Diamond Club destinations miles
$100 Level 2,000 Diamond Club destinations miles

Points Surfer Jul 22, 2009 6:45 pm

Finnaallllyyyy....got over $100 for the 2nd time. With the economy slow its fewer calls for surveys by sponsors so the last $25 took forever. Don't mind it when its flowing along but the drought lately spoiled the fun. Cashing in on HH points and moving on until things p/u.

Got the rollover to June 30, 2010 earlier in Feb but never the Member of our Preferred Research Panel offer.

Payout is so bad you have to open extra accounts under separate emails/addresses. US ones get 5x the surveys as Canadian one's lately folks.

I joined ERewards quite some time ago, and have been trying to keep up with their continued inflated points to make a 'purchase'. Last week, I discovered that they removed $54. from my account; they have yet to return the money earned. I figure this survey is paying aout $3. an hour, so one would think that they would make it easier and worthwhile to remain part of their program.

hi, missy, and welcome to flyertalk.

sorry to hear you weren't able to spend your rewards, but you have to spend a certain (high) percentage of the erewards currency each year, or it disappears. it's been some time since i read the t&c's, but i'm pretty sure it's documented there. you might find reading through this thread helpful, if you haven't done so already.

they do send several emails reminding you to spend your currency before it expires, in my experience.

Missy -send them a message thru the contact portion. They did redeposit my points as a 'courtesy' to me last month.

Note - This was the FIRST year I did not receive any e-mail with the option of extending my rewards by clicking the link. Previously I have ALWAYS received this about 30 days prior to expiration.

Note 2 - About $15 of what disappeared was deposited the day PRIOR to expiration (one big survey I qualified for). Gee - thank you - you give me less than 24 hours to redeem!!

Personally this is the part of the program I hate the most. I would rather it were every 90 days if it went from date of last activity - instead they have one defined date and then no longer send a reminder.

They did however tell me in the e-mail that this was a one time courtesy only. Gee - remember me - I'm the one who was so HONEST when you sent me 2 Target gift cards instead of one - should have kept the second one. So someone remind me early next June that I need to redeem again LOL!

And now I ask the horrid question - has anyone ever been 'caught' for having multiple accounts? I thought it was limited to one per household or one per person?

Is e-rewards a Scam?

After frequent email surveys, the emails just stopped completely, and being just 90 points from redeeming it for BA miles, 50-100 points is usually achieved with just one survey. Surveys very rarely get completed and are very often terminated for partial credit. The very last survey that I got expired barely 3 hours after the mail was sent. I can't wait to redeem the points and cancel the account. They surveys are so frustrating compared to e-miles, and I really think this is a scam, why else would the emails stop when someone is just about to have enough points to redeem.

SCAM: "a confidence game or other fraudulent scheme, esp. for making a quick profit; swindle."

I have earned several thousand Delta miles from e-rewards. It has not cost me a dime, only my time and willingness to fill out some surveys. It may not be the most productive miles program in the world, and their expiration rules can be frustrating, but no, it's not a "scam".

relativelynormal Aug 18, 2009 12:52 am

So what is the best reward for someone with over $100 in my erewards account. I already cashed in the borders bucks so that one is out. The 2,000 miles (NWA) seems like its a bit overpriced. I'm thinking about nabbing either the priority club points since there is no limit for redemptions per year, only that it takes 6-8 weeks to post. Any suggestions or comments as to the best value of the rewards offered by e-rewards?

mirobatka Aug 18, 2009 9:21 am

Can you get the $50 NWA E-cert? ($200 minimum fare, though!)

Some people say Hilton Honors points are a good value.

Are your points expiring soon? I usually wait until US Airways or Delta run a partner promotion and give 1k bonus for every partner. Then I redeem $25 in e-rewards currency and for 500 + 1000 miles.

I've redeemed the Blockbuster rentals and think those are a great value - $25 gets you 6 coupons, 1 good each month for 6 months. Can be used on new release DVDs which at my blockbuster are about $5 each with tax. Otherwise the items that are real money, like Borders $15, NW $25 or $50 certs, FTD $25 cert, a few other flower clubs offering similar certs.

agreed, not a scam at all-the only cost is your time and for me, where i'm out of work and not flying and staying at hiltons like i used to, e-rewards has been keeping my hiltonhonors account active ;)

are you a hiltonhonors member? if so, the $100 reward is a good deal as you get 7,000 hh points (and as i mentioned above, it's been very useful for me)

Once again, US Airways also announced a multi-partner promo. $25 E-Rewards transfer can be worth 500+1000 miles, which is a good value in my oppinion.

dracs Aug 22, 2009 5:23 pm

Best value for e-currency

I have about 129$ and was wondering what would be the best way to use it.
Hilton 7000 points is good option but looked at opportunity hotels they are very limited.

I was wondering if I should get 50$ NW e certificates? Are they valid for 1 year from date of issue ,can they be used by anybody else? do they have your name on that certificate?

Any other option for me to make max of these ?

Thanks for looking by :)

ChinaShrek Aug 22, 2009 6:30 pm

Here are the terms and conditions for the NW discount certificates: https://www.e-rewards.com/northwest/nw_terms_50.jsp

In the past, they were a very good deal. Now, I notice that there are a myriad of blackout dates (including all Sundays). This would be a deal breaker for me but check when you want to travel and it might work out for you.

I almost always redeem for HiltonHhonors points. I stay at many Hilton Family hotels throughout the year, so I use the E-rewards redemption to top off my account. I would not redeem for Hilton points if I did not usually stay with them.
