Thanks for the response catonis.^ DC is definitely on my list, but I'm in DC once or twice a year as it is and always at decent hotels such as the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill for business. I can always take my wife along on those DC trips so I'm looking for something a little different. Anyone?

Maybe someday, companies will learn that the only thing they get from such promotions are unhappy customers.

Rejected submission
I received a post card from the JC Penny Docker promotion the other day stating that my submission had been rejected because I had not bought $125 worth of purchases. I carefully checked this before the submission and checked it again after I got the card. There is no doubt that I spent enough. The post card doesnt give any information about resubmissions, phone numbers, addresses, etc. Even though I knew I would not get through I called the concierge number a couple of times, and didnt get through.
I am not sure why they rejected the submission unless they just could not decipher the receipt, or are just bad at math. The only other possible reason they could have rejected it for this reason was that I bought a pair of Docker shoes (though you cannot really tell that from the receipt). Maybe they will tell me that shoes are not apparel. I beg to differ. First the exclusions are on the form, and shoes are not on the list. Second, if I remember correctly they had a poster about the promotion with forms in the shoe department. I am curious? Did anyone else use a shoe purchase toward meeting their $125?
So, I am planning on writing a letter and including copies of the receipts with calculations. I hope that will do the trick. If you read the terms and conditions it does states that disputes on claims go through arbitration through a district court in CA. I hope that is not their only dispute mechanism. I cant imagine they would be eager to go that route for one voucher.

I bought shoes
submitted claims for the JCP promotion. I purchased online (on the last day of the promotion) and one of the orders included a pair of shoes. I submitted my email order confirmation and received both vouchers last week. Shoes were definitely in the mix.Hate to ask the obvious, but your total purchase price was $125 BEFORE any tax or shipping charges?

rejected submission
In response to above.
What I meant there was that I hope they have some mechanism for resubmissions and simple disputes rather than go directly to some sort of legal arbitration. I seems like a lot of hassle if they only made a simple math mistake. In the terms and conditions, the post card they sent back, on the form and on the website they do not give any clue of what you should do in this case. Most rebates and promotions allow for this.
Also, yes the total is $125 before taxes, after discounts and so on. Glad to see someone else bought shoes and it counted toward the total.

I'm getting frustrated with this.
I sent in my request form in late August. Terms say they will call you in 2 weeks.
About Sept 29 I received an automated message saying that they (a live agent) would call within 1 week.
Yesterday another taped message says they would call by Oct 18th.
This service is very poor. I am eager to finalize my reservations.
