Are you saying MCR is offering tickets to this event? If so please post the link, I just looked myself and found no mention of it.

You are right they are gone but this morning and last week the were offering tickets. This morning it was two grandstand tickets to the July 17 race for 975.

Just looked again after I resigned in. It seems to be a local reward (I'm in CT) since it is now available for redemption

Thank you for your reply. We've been very active in the MCR program for a few years now and I thought I was had a very good grip on it but your post totally blindsided me as I had absolutely no idea that MCR offered local awards that only were available/visible for people in certain geographic areas.

To test your theory I changed my MCR address to a random address in NH, I was then able to view these MCR awards that I had not seen before. I selected the Sprint Cup tickets but of course didn't want them to be shipped to the random NH address so - while leaving that window open - I opened another window and changed my MCR address back to my correct location and then tried to finalize the redemption. Surprisingly the system wouldn't let me do the redemption as it said, "Invalid region ID for redemption".

All in all the whole "local award" thing that only allows redemptions from people in that particular geographic area seems strange to me. Let's say for instance that MCR offered Daytona 500 tickets, would that mean that they would perhaps only allow people in or near FL to successfully claim those awards?

Received an email last week listing a bunch of MCR promotions. Included was the following:

Score Bonus Points this June 1-7 with 20- and 24-packs of Coca-ColaŽ

In typical MCR fashion, clicking on the link only takes you to a list of all the kinds of bottles & cans Coke sells.

Everything I know about this promotion is contained in the above quote. Does anyone have any additional information?

It's not June 1 yet. Wait until then before you click on the link.

IIRC, when ordering awards that require shipping, MCR usually asks you to confirm your shipping address when confirming the award. Could you change it to your real address at that time and still receive the award?

I tried it but surprisingly it didn't work, when I did so it gave me the "Invalid region ID for redemption" error message. I'm really trying to think outside the box to find a workaround on this, but so far luck I'm drawing a blank.

I think it's absolutely ludicrous that they offer local items that they refuse to ship to people outside the local area. Do they honestly think that the only people that are interested in New Hampshire NASCAR tickets live in the NH area? I have friends that have traveled 2000+ miles to see a Sprint Cup race.

This is true. If you are actually interested in the tickets, perhaps an FT'er could allow you to use their address, and forward the tickets? Or, you could contact MCR and see if they could manually process the redemption for you.

Is it possible to trick it by putting in your correct ZIP code but an incorrect state (NH)?

Do people still post unused codes here?

Usually not, because, as happened in this case, someone used it without posting that it was used. :( (I just tried to use it and was given the message that it had already been entered).

What people have done is sent a PM to someone on the thread giving them the code, or posting that they have a code and requesting a PM to receive it.

Thanks for giving it away though!

That's a great suggestion that I would never have thought of on my own, I just tried it and YES it worked.

Now let's see if they actually get delivered to me OK, you would think that the ZIP code would be the determining factor as to where the item is actually shipped and that having the incorrect state really wouldn't matter, but then again who knows...

I guess I won't know the exact seating location of the NH NASCAR tickets until (if) I receive them, that being said the least expensive pair of tix for this event would cost at least $86.40 on TicketMaster, to get items of that value for only 975 MCR points sounds like a pretty good deal.

Now that it appears that we have cracked the code on shipping to other areas the bigger question is: what other good values are out there for local awards that can't be easily viewed by non-locals??

I believe that zip code is the big factor in whether or not it is routed correctly. IIRC, a few years ago, there was a Starbucks gift card available if you completed a survey, but only for those residing or working in NYC, but that those who entered NYC, NY and their correct zip code still received the gift card.

Nolarchy May 24, 2011 9:11 pm

I would think it would be a lot harder to write code that restricts the rewards to certain zip codes rather than leaving it open for everybody to redeem. I wonder what Coke's justification was. I also wonder if there's a way to see the master, master list of rewards.

The 500 priority club points are on sale for 50 MCR points today only. I redeemed 5 times before reading the fine print about a single redemption per lifetime. I did receive 5 unique codes but only 2 posted to my account. Any thoughts on how to get the other 3 credited?

Edit: So those terms are truly confusing, one states a single redemption, but immediately below it states two redemptions per member.

Anyway it seems I just wasted 150 points on 3 unusable codes..

I'll accept 2 of your unusable codes. ;)

Thanks for the heads up. I got 4 to post to my PC account, will try the others again in the morning. I will be contacting PC and/or Coke if the others don't eventually post. If we are allowed to redeem the points, we should be able to enjoy the reward.
