I hope PCR comes back. It's the only reason I still use MCR. Most of their other rewards are useless.

They do have some good gift cards form time-to-time (e.g., KMart, Subway). Their text-to-win games have also been nice for Hollywood Theater and SWA discounts, although I realize that is outside of the MCR program.

stevehuff: Thanks a million, we've been heavily into the MCR program for a few years now but until your post weren't even aware of the text-to-win games. Yesterday on a whim we decided to give it a whirl using our household's 5 cell phones, out of ten total entries we won 6 Hollywood Money Movie Passes, each good for a free admission up to $12 for any movie (I had four movie theaters within a few miles of my house to choose from). Frankly I was hoping to win some of the Southwest discounts but unless if I'm missing something these free movie tix seem like a great deal.

I'm thinking that our results from just 10 entries must be some kind of beginners luck, surely this isn't typical - or is it? Anyone else do these text games, if so what are your experiences?

So it's established that the 500/2000 PCR point redemptions have historically disappeared and reappeared.. Does anyone know if PCR/IHG has ever disappeared and reappeared on the partner list before? I'd imagine some people holding large amounts of MCR codes and/or points and waiting for code or point bonus/discount promos will be sorely disappointed if they don't come back. Not all of us were lucky enough to get in on the Wednesday PCR Slaughter of 2011. ;) Also, I know they don't have to, but it sure would have been nice to have an announcement of the end of the partnership to give people a chance to unload.

Then again.. Southwest is now predominately shown as a partner, with lots of promos and such. I wouldn't mind redeeming MCR points for RR points, maybe that will be the next door opening if the PCR door is closed for good?

That's interesting. Under RR 2.0, the program certainly is more amenable to the MCR format.

Today's deal is a seafood company affiliated with Omaha Steaks. Has anyone tried either one?

I have noticed in the past when neither award is available the Holiday Inn logo is not visible. It returns when the awards return. I'm not worried. I did not redeem some 2000 point rewards at the end of the year so that I would bank toward Gold status for 2012. Come January - no 2000 point rewards. I waited and they did return - April I think.

Patience pays. I'll just keep banking points in the mean time.

Thx for the heads up. I order from Omaha Steaks/World Port frequently, and have for years. So, I redeemed with MCR just now and want to advise: the discount comes up in the Omaha Steaks system as 10.00, not 15.00. I called CS and they were great about it. Got a fast update to my order showing the newly adjusted 15.00 amt. Then, in about 5 min. received a call from the rep asking me to call back once I get a new code from MCR which would properly designate for them the 15.00 discount amt as they're trying to track the glitch internally. Very nice company to work with. I've never had issues. The food is reliably good, and a lot of their seafood is wild, not farmed. If you prefer "wild", give them a call and a rep will tell you which products are not farmed. Some folks feel their products are a bit costly per serving, but by the time I factor in my gas and time, it's worth it to me overall.

interesting. did anyone notice that they seem to want us to come back weekly through 7/22 to play? wonder if this was something being offered for all of July? anyway, thanks for the heads up!

It's being offered for three weeks, and this is the second of the three weeks. Greatly appreciate the OP mentioning this, would never have thought that MCR would offer the bonus points multiple times on the same promotion.
